Re: Should Dukasaur be banned?

According to Stallin, it takes more energy and resources to mention Saxitoxin compares Israelis to Nazis, than to making an entire thread alleging Dukasaur compares Palestinians to Nazis...

1. You know what the division of labor is, dawg?
2. You and Dookie are easier game; saxi's more difficult. I'd have to invest more marginal resources into learning more about the issue; whereas, with obvious bigots of very limited information, I don't have to expend as much. I won't apologize for my profit-maximization nor my utility function.
Makes perfect sense

Man, I actually have a lot of work I need to get done before tomorrow and I keep getting distracted by Gabby's hilarity.

Ah, I see you changed the goal posts from "demonstrate that saxitoxin is a bigot" to "mention Saxitoxin compares Israelis to Nazis." I'm surprised you squeezed out such a tremendous intellectual feat!

Dealing with saxi requires much more knowledge, but dealing with you requires much less, so the marginal costs curves differ. I opt for the cost-minimizing route.

Lemme know when you've figured out that "division of labor" thing, okay?

It's a perfect example dude. Two people said basically the exact same thing. You were silent when Saxi said it, but you made a whole thread claiming that "dookie" said something kinda like what Saxi did. =D> :D

I didn't "move the goal posts" in pointing this out as the issue isn't limited to showing "Saxitoxin is a bigot". Rather, the issue is the blatant and consistent double standard which is perfectly exemplified in your creating this thread but spending over 30 pages in silence when Saxitoxin said very similar things about the other side in the conflict.

That's not a "division of labor" issue. It's you showing your selective bias and it applies applies almost universally in topics where your little clique bullies members of the forum.

I'm still mystified as to why BBS, a fellow with strongly libertarian leanings, would advocate banning someone on this forum for what he's said...

I haven't seen any evidence of non-economic libertarianism from him. Can you show a post? [Other than one where he explicitly says "I'm a Libertarian, hurr durr durr"]

BigBallinStalin wrote:Dukasaur is comparing Palestinians to Nazis. If you equate "Hamas" and "Palestinian," then only you can correct your own prejudice.
That is because everyone who uses the word "Palestinians" are actually referring to "Hamas." People just don't like saying "Let's give aid to Hamas."

If you want to get technical, there is no such thing as a "Palestinian." There are the people of Gaza, who have been occupied by one group or another for most of the modern history. When they managed to get "free" elections, they choose to be enslaved to the terrorist group Hamas, because they have been suffering generational Stockholm Syndrome.

Let's go back a bit before the current attacks but not to far. Who was the most evil corporation in the world?

Soda Stream.

Why?

Because they were giving job opportunities to the residents of Gaza?

No.

Because they were Zionist scum giving job opportunities to the residents of Gaza!

The Destruction of the Jewish State is always a greater priority than that of the welfare of the residents of Gaza who only exist (and who have been taught this from childhood in the schools) so that they could be martyrs in the cause for the destruction of the Jewish State.

This post makes GabonX proud. I give you a 8/10 and a hastily written recommendation letter:

Dear Whoever,

Hire this man!

There are a number of libertarians who are so against neo-con imperialist arguments that they tend to knee jerk favor the opposite side.

This is why many of them (including Ron Paul) occasionally seems to embrace the antisemitic side of the conflict.

This is similar to the level of criticism used against people who opposed the US wars against Iraq and AFG:

"If you oppose these wars, then you don't support the troops. You hate America!!!!"

How confident are you that all your claims are correct? Would you give yourself a 100% chance that all your claims are correct? 95%? 80%?

No it is not. Pointing out the evil of one side (and the terrorist organization in charge of Gaza and who uses their own citizens as human shields is clearly evil) is not the same as misguided appeals to blind patriotism.

In fact it the other side that has problems. They are like the people who insist that the rape victim had to have done something to provoke the incident in the first place.

Good job with calling critics anti-semites. I could go back a page and point out more stupidity from you, but it won't phase you.

It's a misguided appeal to blind racism?

* debunked; it's also racist - propagating an unproved conspiracy narrative that characterizes "X [evil] race" as naturally having less respect for life than "Y [good] race" is dehumanizing and has formed the core of conquest myths for everyone from Belgians in the Congo to Germans and the Jews ... proof of an anthropological phenomenon ≠ "they said so on the Mark Levin Show" and using a substitution word (i.e. "Hamas" for "Arabs") doesn't work as a get out of jail free card after you've previously said "they [Palestinians] choose to be enslaved to ... Hamas"
tzor wrote:If you want to get technical, there is no such thing as a "Palestinian."
No, actually, if you want to get technical, there actually is a thing as a "Palestinian." The "Palestinians don't actually exist" meme originated in the U.S. with Newt Gingrich's utterance of it in 2011 (the earliest recorded instance of it being used anywhere was in a speech Golda Meir gave to the Knesset in the 1970s). The "Palestinians don't actually exist" phrase was not part of U.S. evangelical / conservative lexicon prior to 3.5 years ago and has never been part of academic understanding of the ethnology of Semitic peoples.

Like many right-wing conspiracy theories of hidden knowledge (which are usually confidently preceded with the words "Technically speaking ..." or "If you want to get technical ..."), it adds decades of imaginary longevity each year it propagates, similar to the "America isn't a democracy, it's actually a constitutional republic" theory which was first used in the '50s by college dropout Robert Welch and then was essentially dormant until None Dare Call it Conspiracy was published in the 1970s. (I've previously debunked that one here.)
