Night 0, December 2015,
My dearest love, I have safely returned to the village where we have spent so many of our childhood days. It would appear that, by whatever cruel stars have crossed me, I have arrived at an inauspicious time. Do you remember Doctor Nathan Peter Cunningham? The kindly old man with the rosy cheeks? From what I can gather, he has been warning villagers lately of threats to the village. It would appear that monsters, wolves that walk upright and disguise themselves as human, have infiltrated the town. To further complicate matters, those who have the power to discern these monsters and hunt them, have instead decided to save the village only for themselves, placing their bid for power above the lives of their fellow villagers. Dr Cunningham has kindly offered to protect any villager from these threats, but being the trusting sort, was not able to distinguish friend from foe. Alas, his corpse was discovered in the center of town this morning. While I am above suspicion, having only recently arrived, I fear that I shall not be able to leave town until this affair is resolved.
