He wasn't "Beaten"... he just had some sense beat back into him. Also, Banner did help Stark make the armor, so if anything could beat the Hulk, Hulkbuster stands the best chance. We originally shot that he changed back to Banner, and was looking around and seeing what he'd done, but I thought, late in the game, that it would be more effective if the Hulk himself was able to register it and that it became stronger than whatever spell Tony had knocked out of him. The only rule of science I have in Avengers movies is "if somebody is mind-controlling you, then you get hit really hard, then it'll probably end."

Hulk doesn't "have sense knocked into him." He can only be defeated sonically (or through mind control, but I'm not sure about that).DoomYoshi wrote:Joss Whedon replies:He wasn't "Beaten"... he just had some sense beat back into him. Yep, I can't wait for Civil War! Probably going to be the best Marvel movie of all time. Also, I have to agree that Marvel television series are doing great. I haven't seen Daredevil, but I have been keeping up with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sometimes the stories get a bit old hat with all the spy-stuff; but at least it isn't boring. And the acting is fairly good. I only started watching it because a coworker told me Phil Coulson was still alive and played one of the main characters.thegreekdog wrote: I'm excited for Civil War, which was the last crossover comic I ever read and I enjoyed, although it doesn't look big enough. Marvel is doing a better job with the television shows than the movies...

In the old days (remember I define old as older than Star Wars), Hulk was much weaker than he is now. Furthermore, there is no proof that MCU Hulk has the same powers as main canon Hulk. I seem to remember Samson beating Hulk, but I couldn't find the image. Instead take an image of his earliest known weakness: gas attacks. He used to require oxygen. We've now entered the age where unprecedented Marvel research can be done thanks to Marvel Unlimited. Lack of knowledge (aka fandom) is inexcusable.thegreekdog wrote:Hulk doesn't "have sense knocked into him." As the years went on, Hulk was stronger against gas attacks. In the cartoon Avengers Assemble, he has no problem fighting in space or under the ocean.TA1LGUNN3R wrote:I seem to remember one where the Hulk just windmills his arms and and dissipates all the gas. I think it was a crossover where Batman tries to defeat the Hulk.

I think I read that one. It was horrific.thegreekdog wrote:I think Superman could beat the Hulk. If you haven't read them, Marvel did a bunch of comics titled "[Character Name]: The End" including one with the Hulk. Basically he was the only one left on an abandoned earth and was eaten alive every day by a swarm of insects. It was a weird comic. He tried to commit suicide but would always change into the Hulk.
