Why can't I type f\uck without it correcting itself to f*ck. When was this change implemented? I haven't checked on forums yet, but this happens when I write on walls at least.
Edit also happens here.
mfw f uck gets changed to f*ck but "fucking" or "fucker" is still allowed, as well as a lot of other stuff. Dunno what CC is trying to accomplish with this.
When someone flames the hell out of you ingame you'll get a FAMO because he wasn't being a bigot, but oh dear if I write f*ck on a wall or in the forums

Lets preface this by stating cultures can differ a lot and this applies to the Netherlands, but possibly not for the rest of the world.
Youngsters, depending on how young they are, dont give a shit about swearwords. Unless you mean children, we should be fine here. Now I do admit I joined myself at the age of 10 and I don't think I swore that often, but youngsters probably swear enough already and CC won't change any of it in a positive or negative way.

It's like somebody started setting up the filter, than decided it was too much work and gave up, but left it installed.
I think Twill originally did it as test, though I can't quite remember for sure and could be misremembering. I know I left it in place because I like the humor of having one word only partially censored by the software.

Why don't deploy it to a test environment then? I don't mean to be attacking, but it seems silly to test something on live.

I can't say for sure. It was like a decade ago. I know there was a test forum that various things were tested on, but this sort of change probably seemed of little impact, so it was done on the live version.
