I would say that the offer to me, of all people, to host a Paralympic event, is a bum deal. Even posting the suggestion has met with outright hostility, calls for a ban, and poll manipulation

A Paralympic event organised by me, even if I had the skills to do it, would end up as a debacle. How could it even be seen as fair if the results of even asking whether it was a good idea was subject to rigging?

Let alone moving the entire thread out of GD entirely.

While I agree with you about the CC snub being wrong, I don't agree with your reading of my post.

I don't have the experience to organise a full on event, nor do I have the kind of backing needed.

Suggesting that disabled athletes be recognised equally, IMHO, isn't wrong.

Thanks for being open, I'm always curious as to how threads get misread. If you could go back an re-read the thread, knowing what you know now, do you think you would view it differently? Or would you find your convictions unshaken by experience?

This particular troll is nothing more than a cancer. "I am unable to ascertain your genuine agenda other to try and cause friction" - that's it. That's all this troll wants, and all this troll accomplishes. This troll brings nothing but strife to this site, and I doubt many, if any, would miss this troll, if said troll were banned.

CC could routinely allow cancer charities access to their server power suring quiet times. But they dont, because surprise surprise that is costly.

Does this mean CC dont support anti cancer work? No.

Every other event is a parody (well, except for Glow in the dark Archery, of course). Wheelchair Slalom? Team CC was actually honoring the Paralympics, and y'all didn't even know!

A friend of mine I went to college with actually won a gold and two silvers in the Beijing paralympics, and picked up another silver and a bronze in London in 2012.

I didnn't see it as a matter of mockery. More affectionate parody.

Treating Paralympians as outside the realms of normal behaviour is not common sense (or even COMMON SENSE) They don't need special treatment or a pity party where humour is somehow banned.

If it's not worth a laugh or two, or at least a smile, to point out that wheelchair rugby used to be called murderball, then, hell, your "COMMON SENSE" has led you astray.

Do you genuinely believe that the Paralympics should be a solemn occasion? Quietly shoved away in a corner?

Maybe if I made it political, it would be more interesting? Perhaps you would allow a slight grimace at how dismissively the Americans treat disabled servicemen and women, but nothing more?

Being disabled doesn't mean people have lost their sense of humour, mate.
