CC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

This competition is now closed to new teams. Anybody else who would like to play can be added to the reserve list of their team

We have 30 teams that will be drawn into 5 groups of 6 teams, with 12 teams going into the q-finals. That is the top 2 from each group, plus the 2 best 3rd place teams. These 12 will go into 2 groups of 6 with the top 2 going into the semi finals.

In each of the group stages, 5 games will be set up and the 5 team members will be pmd the password for these games. IMPORTANT: EACH TEAM MAY ONLY PLAY ONE PLAYER PER GAME - so if the game you want to join has already got one of your teammates in it then you have to chose another game. So if you hate terminator games then get in to one of the standard games before your teammates do. So get to know the names of your teammates as per the list below. Points in these games are as follows: Winner gets 3 points, the remainder score nil except for terminator games where you score 1 point for every opponent you eliminate plus the last man standing gets a bonus point.

When these games have completed each team will play each other in a 2v2 and 3v3 match. The points for doubles is 2 to the winner and 3 points for the triples game.

In all cases for the purpose of the tournament any game not finished after 20 rounds will be declared a draw and any remaining points not yet won will be shared between the surviving players.

In the event of 2 or more teams tieing for position in the table the winner will be the team who has the best round average. This is calculated as the total number of rounds played in losing matches divided by the total number of rounds played in winning matches. So it is in a teams interest to win a game as quickly as possible.

Again in the doubles and triples matches each team member may choose which slot he would like. ie if you prefer to play doubles or prefer a certain partner or game configuration.

Each team member will have 72 hours from time of pm to join a game. If after this time games have not been joined then a pm will be sent to the first reserve and again to the next reserve every 24 hours until the game is joined by someone from the team. Should a regular team member not join a game he will be replaced in the team sheet by the first reserve player and will be placed at the bottom of the reserve list.

Deadbeats: Anyone joining a game and then deadbeating will be thrown out of the tournament permanently.

PRIZES

Lack has kindly donated 24 months premiership membership as prizes.

These will be distributed as follows:

9 months to the golden boot winner (the player who scores most points for his team - whether that team wins the tournament or not).

The remaining 15 months to go to the winning team (3 months per team member)

The survey I was 'asked' to fill in asks 3 questions.

1. Your name......err after several PMs I think AK must know that by now

2. The tourny you are running and a link to the tourny......as he has just posted in this one I think he is well aware of this tourny.

3. the status of the tourny. I think he knows that too.

So who is being stubborn?

AK has created rules the way a dictator does and anyone who doesn't conform is persecuted. This does not take hours of work and my point is a principal. When 'asked' to do something one has a free choice to do so or not. I am uncertain how to create links and meant to do it later then I forgot.

It seems that if one doesn't do what ak asks he sets himself up as judge and jury - just ask hector and his spamalot people.

My objection guys is a principal, I have not abused my privileges, indeed I feel that I have used them to the benefit of this community. This tourny has taken up hours of my time that I do not begrudge but because i forgot to file a survey that I was 'asked' to fill in I am stripped of all my privileges.

I wonder what the 'A' in AK Iceman stands for....Adolph perhaps?

Finally, I wonder what Lackattack would do with members of this community who failed to answer a survey he put out? strip them of premium? I doubt it.

This survey saves me a LOT of time and makes running the Tournament area easier so that I have more time to spend on other areas of CC.

I took the time to PM 70 people, you took the time to run several tournaments. I'm not trying to fight you or control you, but I ask that you work with me so that things run smoothly around here. If you don't know how to do a link, please refer to this thread and learn how.

Please explain how pming you information you already have is going to save you hours. You have already posted twice into my tourny forum so you are perfectly aware of the link, you also know the name and status of the tournament oh and as you've pmd me several times i guess you know my name.

Therefore you clearly have all the info already, therefore your only reason to insist on me filling in your survey is indeed to control me.

I can appreciate sticking by your principles, yorkiepeter. I can understand how you feel in terms filling out a questionnaire to which the answers are already known. However, AK_iceman has stated his case and this does not appear to be a black-and-white situation.

More importantly, sticking to your principles on this point at this time is holding up a tourney in progress, into which, I expect, you and others have already put a lot of time. It is also delaying the start of your Singles tournament, which has a lot of people interested, myself included.

I would ask that you fill out the form so that the tourney in progress may continue. I'd also like to see the Singles tournament start, but I can certainly understand that you might not want to begin another tournament until procedures have been worked out.

How about if discussion of the tournament process move to the Suggestion forum? I'm fairly new here but perhaps I can assist in reaching a compromise. I think people should keep in mind that Conquer Club is a work-in-progress, and it is helpful to be flexible while administrative tools are in their infancy.

You want to run a tourny you PM and get your tourny rights. Every few months they send you a very simple form where you have to fill in 3 pieces or so of information. This keeps them updated with the status of the many tournies that are running.

I don't see what the problem is? It makes sense to me and sounds the easiest way for them to organise things.

A month down the line and if you haven't taken the 2 minutes to fill in the form then it makes sense they presume you are no longer interested in tounry rights.

All seems sensible to me!

Sure they might be making an example of you but if everyone else failed to fill in the form then it sounds like it would be a nightmare for them to keep track of everything.

Or, as previously stated, am I completely missing the point of all of this???

I can understand your particular point here since AK knows the relevant information for that particular tourney. So he could just say ok, I´ll write in the information and you keep going..

But think about it this way:

Assume it takes him 1-2 minutes to collect these 3 pieces of information per tourney and to write it into the form/database.
If there are 120 tourneys going on (or something like that), that easily sums up to 2-4 hours of work for him.
If every tourney organizer fills in the form for his tourney, it takes them a few minutes, he just merges all data from the forms into the database, and it´s all done.
Nobody has more work than 10 minutes with this and all are happy.

So it sounds fair to me that everyone contributes his share of information and splits the workload doing so.

So AK is right when he wants everyone to fill in these simple pieces of information, since otherwise he would sit there for hours typing that stuff in.

So I really think this information is not about controlling or dictating, it´s just a way to share the workload and keep things going efficiently.

And Switzerland is rocking it´s group, it is just impossible to stop this wonderful tourney now

York id like to say u few words.
As u and all ppl knows i was a ur supporter in this situation but...there is a "but".
I dont know how it works and i believe its not easy for Director Ak-Iceman to supervise all torunaments and spendstime and dont do mistakes and be kindly and so on.
We all that u york are doing a great job too.
When people work always probs occur and im sure that U and Iceman have the same intention: do good for this site, this great game and his customers.
So please York try to find a solution with Iceman, we all will be happy and i think that togheter u and Iceman could be a great resource and not enemies.
