All good my friend, i know some old guys send me PM or post seeing a player turning Freemium while that round still active so I can react and help sending PM to that player before the next round comes up, it not always work but sometime it was only a quick overlook and the player renew how Premium right away but sometime you have someone who donāt even read PM or wall message.
Since there is Round 2 in your case then chances are he will get boot out but sometime with that only few games he may get a lucky shot and pass through the elimination rounds and this situation happens again.
Bottom line, I always recommend to all players to check their ongoing auto tournaments as much as possible to catch this early enough, not always easy but it is more easy when you have multiple pair of eyes checking.
Pretty sure CC sends a warning about being kicked from an auto-tournament due to loss of premium and delays the start by something like 24 hours for you.
Yes. An automessage is sent and the tournament waits 24 hours for you to renew.

The other side of your thoughts could be an easy 3-0 from a match where the opponent deadbeat, became Freemium and couldnāt receive game invit, etc...
That was the best way, using auto tournament available coding, to setup the tournament.
