I'm hard pressed to believe that Hitred is a frequent user of acid, hence, the voices. Saxi, shockingly, is as sober as a gopher. Confed had a bad experience with kool-aid or snorted booger sugar up the wrong nostril. Packrat should need drugs, of the weed variety. Duk probably has a joint after work, kind of like "another day maaaaaan." Ralph probably does shrooms.

I use to be a chronic pot smoker, but now a infrequent pot smoker. My preferred drug is beer and chewing on cigars.
I will drop acid/mushrooms (caps, no stems) about once a year to clear the clutter in my cranium. With that said...I should smoke more weed to reduce the anger issues that bubble up in me from time to time.
First druggie period from '79 to '81, was a big pothead but also experimented with harder stuff. Mescaline and peyote, mainly. Also datura, which most people have never even heard of. The Havasupai Indians do it down in the Grand Canyon, which is where I had the first of several experiences. Also during this phase had cocaine for the first time.
'81 to '82, moved to a different city, ran with a different crowd. Very rarely used street drugs. Mainly just beer, beer, and more beer. Oh, and have another beer. Did have one wild acid trip during this phase, however.
'82 to '83, got mixed up in Scientology, therefore complete abstinence from all drugs.
'83 to '84, moved to Toronto, different crowd again. Stayed briefly with a friend of my parents who happened to be a coke dealer. Any guesses what went on?
'84 to '86, lived by myself, had a couple beers on payday but not much more than that.
'86 to '88, second druggie period. Tried pretty much everything there is during this phase. Lots and lots of acid. One time I noticed that when I dropped acid, I lost the urge to smoke cigarettes. So I decided the best way to quit smoking was to just drop acid every day. Did acid 39 consecutive days. Tolerance builds fast with acid, so I had to do bigger and bigger quantities, too. By the 39th day, I was crazy paranoid. Some cops came to the construction site where I worked. They were just handing out parking tickets, because the Novotel Hotel was complaining that the construction workers were stealing parking spaces from hotel guests. But in my paranoid state, I thought they were there for my drugs. Ran all over the site, hiding my acid in different cracks and crevices. That night, I had a cigarette. The experiment had failed. Bits of everything else also during those crazy years. Heavy narcotics, heavy amphetamines. My one and only intravenous experience was during this phase.
'88 to now. After my kids were born, my wild and crazy lifestyle had to be brought under control. Also, became a truck driver in '88 so that was another reason to avoid anything heavy. Still did some drugs now and then, but rarely. So few occasions I can count them. Acid three times, mushrooms twice. Last time I did acid was 1998, last time I did mushrooms was 2002.
I did spend a couple years on antidepressants though, from about 2000 to 2002. SSRIs are like taking really weak acid, so I guess I should count those.
Nowadays, I have a glass of wine every now and then. Usually I'll open a bottle, have one or two glasses, and it ends up corking before I even finish the bottle, so I usually cook with the second half a couple weeks later. That tells you how often I drink. Also have a cannabis gummy once in a blue moon. Overall, between the wine and the gummies, might get mildly inebriated once or twice a year.
I'm really grateful that with all the periods of heavy drinking and heavy drug use in my younger years, I didn't get addicted to anything. Every time I stopped doing something it was effortless. Except nicotine, of course. That took 30 years to beat.

And, yes, DDS is right. The only drugs saxi has taken are nicotine and alcohol. Though I'd be open to ayahuasca.

DoD...that was a very interesting read. We had quite a few things in common...I loved the 80s
The only thing I'll put in writing here (since my persona is in no way transparent and being a "respectable business owner" and all ) I loves me my canadian whisky and always will. I also smoked cigarettes for over 20 years and finally quit 4 years ago. Smoked a bunch of weed as a kid til I realized my grades went in the shitter so I quit that before I was 17. Can't stand weed...it's literally worse for me than acid; shit is SO potent these days. There are several recreational drugs I would vote for being legalized since weed is....
I voted for me and DDS and DoD...there's a few I know about that should be up there and aren't, but, like a nun on easter, my lips are sealed!

Good for you Kool, they say it's harder to shake than heroine and given how easy access is I'd agree. Especially after 20 years, you should be very proud.

I can't blame anyone for my use of alcohol and drug use, but myself. Of course my past is filled with friends, women and co-workers that could blame me for their addictions.
