France still hates Muslims

As Paris prepares to host the Olympics this summer, its preparations have sadly been overshadowed by the French government's inability to go 5 minutes without abusing Muslims.

The UN's Human Rights Office and Amnesty International have both come out criticising the French government's decision to ban Muslim French athletes from covering their hair while competing:

Already deplored all over the sporting world for its arbitrary and gratuitous persecution of Muslim athletes, and over the world in general for its suppression and abuse of Muslims across all aspects of daily life, the French government must surely soon be due a good hard look at itself while it asks whether it learned anything from WW2.

Rather than ask yourself if France learned anything from World War II, you might rather ask yourself if France learned anything from November 2015.

Religious fanatics will stop at nothing to cause pain and suffering, and if difficult measures are required, put the blame where it belongs.

The UAE foreign minister said that a lack of tough decision making in Europe would be to blame for extremism.
That political correctness and a lack of backbone to deal firmly with this rabble would lead to more incidents.

....and if a female family member is raped, the family -rather than seeking justice through vengeance or judicial pursuit- will throw rocks at their female family member until that female -who was raped- is dead.

They also feel the need to yell loudly every morning, disturbing the peace around them, because somehow they are special enough to yell every morning - even if its' the middle of a flight on an airplane.

I do. I put the blame for the French government's persecution of Muslims on the French government. Just as the UN, Amnesty International and other humanitarian organisations do.

Funny how when the Chinese government persecutes Muslims you immediately start criticising the Chinese government, but when the Israeli or French governments persecute Muslims suddenly you it's the fault of Hamas, ISIS, the falafel guy who sold you a bad wrap etc etc - everyone except the governments who are actually responsible. What's up with that?

They aren't bright enough to boycott the place. Quebec is even meaner. They refused to remove pork from school cafeterias.

The UAE allows 12 year-old girls to wear a headscarf while playing netball, as does every other country in the world. Only France does not.

I lived in the Sinai for 6 months.
I currently live near Detroit/Dearborn, or Dearbornistan as detractors like to call it.
Dearborn has a strong vibrant Arabic community of several hundred thousand.

I've never had a problem with the community and they have a steady flow of immigrants.
However they have a efficient system of the already assimilated, taking the new arrivals aside and teaching them what is expected of them.
There are occasionally wrinkles that make the news, but its rarely criminal.
Things like a woman wanting to wear a full burqa when having her driver's license picture taken.

Europe seems to have allowed a complete handsoff approach in some places, initially anyways.
Like allowing muslims to bring a busy workday to a standstill for prayer.
Not sure why this was allowed, but its one of the sources of tension.


People that don't want to assimilate to a nations current culture should stay right where they are and not immigrate.
That isn't exclusive to Muslims, but to any group of people, including caucasians wanting to go live aboard.

Are you saying you support banning women from wearing a headscarf, like the French government is banning its female athletes from doing?

I am saying I support the French people deciding by a majority what they want to legislate as rules and laws, and then making sure everyone complies.
Citizens, immigrants, visitors, etc.

Are you okay with me grabbing 100,000 Americans, moving into your area, and then demanding the region accept and live by the customs of America?
You might be alright with that, I find it ridiculous.

I don't like picking a specific rule or law, far too many variables and topics.
Instead I try to stick to principles, and in this case its allowing the people of an area/region to self govern as much as possible.
Representative government isn't perfect, but its pretty good.
Outsiders that want to move into an area like this need to either accept it or stay out.
Its really not complicated.

This thread is about banning women from wearing a headscarf. That is what the French government has done. Do you think that is acceptable? It's not a difficult question to answer.

If it would make it easier for you to answer: would you want your local government to ban women from wearing headscarves?

This thread is about French athletes who want/ed to represent France at the Olympics. Most if not all will be French people who were born in France.

Olympic teams have uniforms that represent their country.This includes professional sport teams.

You don't want to follow the rules, go fuk yourself. Plain and simple!
