It's normal for the head of state of the host country to attend the final. The heads of Mexico and Canada should be there too, as they are joint hosts - as long as they're allowed in by immigration, that is... ;)
8 of the finals have featured the host nation:
Uruguay, Italy, England, Germany, Argentina and France won,
Sweden and Brazil were runners-up.

I'm sorry sir you seem to be mistaken, Fox news is reporting that the US is hosting the event solo and that Trump has already won the world cup personally due to his achieving the unconditional surrender of Iran. There may be some soccer happening in Mexico but it's really just illegal immigrants that were deported and are having a friendly match while they wait for the coyote to help them navigate the impenetrable wall. With Canada being the 51st state now, any games up there are officially American as well.

idk about all these previous host countries you've mentioned. They don't seem like real countries to me, just mainstream media lies... I mean common, Uruguay? You are telling me that is a real country? I'm pretty sure it's just a giant hole where you dump shit.

Of course, what's really bizarre about the Trump Cup is the scheduling. Who on earth wants to play, or indeed watch, football at 5am?

More seriously - nice to see some of the smaller nations justifying their inclusion by taking points off the big boys. There have been a couple of wallopings (Germany/Curacao, Canada/Qatar) but at least as many unexpected draws (Spain/Cape Verde, Uruguay/Cape Verde, Portugal/DR Congo, Ecuador/Curacao).

Yes, that aspect of upsets and the Unexpected keeps Sports interesting for many to watch and enjoy.

Goooo...! U----S----A.....! :D =D>

Canada (1 win and 1 draw, of of NOW) and Mexico (2 wins, 2-0-0, as has the USA) have done well, too. What about England (1-0-0), and Scotland (1-0-1; W-D-L))? I know that New Zealand (0-1-1) lost its most recent games, to Egypt.
Finally, Egypt claimed their first-ever World Cup victory by coming from behind to beat New Zealand 3-1.

I don't really care about soccer, but I heard on the radio today that some retard put $1 million on Spain over Cape Verde, and lost the whole thing. That made me feel good! Teaches a lesson about gambling. A fool and his money are soon parted!

-------------It's nice to see something once and a while...Other than, millionaire cry babies.....MLB Baseball players now break a nail, go on the cripple list...Back in the day...Players would wear an eye patch, go out on crutches ...."I'M GOOD COACH, I'M PLAYING"....You couldn't drag them off the field...They might not play again..."Wally" Pipp was , by today's standards...AN ALL STAR...Got the FLU, missed a game, never played again...LOU "IRON HORSE" GEHRIG...Filled in for Pipp...PLAYED FOREVER...2,130 straight games...
------------I like the little countries too.......One Summer Olympics......Costa Rica won a Gold Medal.....For a few days...Led the leader board....Over The Big Guys...USA,CHINA..etc...etc..........

What was highly unusual was to see a game (involving France) paused due to threat of lightning. It makes sense in golf, and obviously other sports aren't playable in the rain, but I don't think I've ever seen a game halted over here due to that. We just carry on. I'd have thought that the stadia would have suitable lightning protection and that no-one would be in any danger.

I can't imagine the odds would have been that great.
