Been following for the past month. It's almost like watching a cartoon unfold real time. Between BM having a villains mustache, to Ben being... well kind of an idiot about legal matters, but it's entertaining at least. More shocked at how incompetent that police department is.

All for some goofy Legos that aren't priced correctly to begin with.

I haven't followed it closely, but i understand the rough outlines and am in pretty deep in the collectables space these days. He had a contract right? and the new owners claimed the contract was with the old owners (that's not a thing btw, they bought the contract when they bought the store imo)? I hope it works out for him where they just have to pay him full insurance values on everything

I'll try to do a best rough timeline.

The owners of the Legos was trying to sell his collection and asked a BM store to do it. The owners of that store agreed to a contract to sell it . A year goes by, owners of the store wanted move, higher ups of BM quickly fired them, sent two new owners to kick them out and take over. Lego owners reached out wanting their stuff back, new owners said they don't have it and they don't have to honor the agreement anyways. Ben gets involved. Store closes and the new owners move out of state. Ben follows. What proceeds is probably the worst idea imaginable for a company to directly involve the police and showcasing some of the most inept officers to grace the force recently. Courts get involved. Issue a gag order saying Ben was issuing bomb threats. Coffeezilla gets involved, finds out BM is lying. BM issues another false statement later.

Lawyers have been dog piling this like crazy, because it really is a gold mine. Legal Eagle breaks it down better than I could. But Ben can't stfu and misinterprets alot of legal stuff and yeah. It's just a clusterfuck.

Any chance they are building them out of little plastic bricks?

One point though - Lego bricks are not currently recyclable, so more Lego isn't environmentally friendly. There are some place where one can donate, if one has outgrown them - charity shops are always a good place if the stuff is in good condition.

Lego is way overpriced currently. You can easily sell even incomplete kits in surprisingly rough shape.

It’s not shown in the video but BMF makes a good percentage of their revenue from hosting birthday parties and selling new kits. As Confed alluded to LEGO has some power here. They could recommend a plan of action while making it sound like friendly advice.

Don't think there is alot they can do other than release a statement and condemn them.
