The Science team is just having another day, until a team of Norwegians arrive and are shooting and throwing explosives at a dog. Alarmed by the helicopter and the gunfire and explosions, the team gets ready for a fight and to protect the dog. Tragically, it ends in bloodshed as one Norwegian points his weapon and gets ready to shoot (the dog). Garry shoots and kills the Norwegian while the other blows himself up and their helicopter.
Trying to make sense of this, the Science team sets out to make sense of why the Norwegians were belligerent.
The crew brings back the strange creature to study. As they're unloading, the dog stares, patiently. Later that night, Blair discovers something sinister...It can take over organisms at a cellular level and perfectly replicate them. However, news of this arrives too late for the crew to do anything...
Faced with horror they had just witnessed, and learning about The Thing's ability to mimic and that one member is likely already infected, the crew forms a plan...To blood test each other to find The Thing before it can convert the crew.
Day 1 starts when everyone confirms.

Spoiler
1.The moderator is always right. Do not try and argue with them. However we are all human and we all make mistakes. The moderator will try and fix any mistake he or she may have made.
2. Do not edit/delete previous posts. Whatever you say goes into historical record.
3. Do not quote any PM's you receive from the moderator or another player. You may say your name, role, associated abilities. This is a serious offence and could earn you a mod-kill, and/or a blacklist from future games. This also goes with any use of AI or otherwise. I will mod kill and black list you immediately. Do not test me on this.
4. The game will not be discussed outside this thread, unless your role specifically says you can.
5. Lynch ‘votes’ and ‘unvotes’ must be in bold RED, Blood test votes will be in bold BLUE!. If they are not, they will not be tallied. You must first unvote and then vote to change your vote from someone. Mods may change this according to their wishes. IE: Vote Rooginan Blood Test (or just BT) Sonic
6. Blood Testing is NOT a lynch. Town will vote to check a persons "blood" to see if they are The Thing. There is no down side to this. It's recommended that town uses this before a lynch.
7. Lynching requires a majority of the total votes, once the majority has been reached any unvotes will not be counted. The majority is half the players alive +1.
8. You may vote ‘no lynch’ to end the day without a death.
9. Lengths of days depend on moderators. Usually they are indefinite until the game starts dragging and then the moderator enforces a deadline. (I will implement a deadline if there is a lack of direction/deadlock).
10. Lengths of nights depend on moderator. Try and send the actions earlier if possible, and save everyone time. It's a hassle for the moderator to pm everyone who hasn't sent in an action. (Nights will last for 48 hours, regardless if you sent a night action or not, please pay attention to this).
11. Once your death scene has been posted, it's over for you. You can no longer post anything related to the game. Whining is alright, **Voices from beyond the grave** are alright, as long as nothing of substance is revealed. This means you can post something like "Damn you mafia!" or "Oh well. Go town!" but you cannot post and add to the discussion. This is a serious offence. (My note: I hate this shit. If you're being a problem, I will black list you and ask a mod to keep you out of future games).
12. Be attentive and active in the game. You will be replaced if you don't post. (72 hours) If something prevents you to participate for a long period of time, announce it here or via PM. Help everyone's enjoyment of the game by being active and sending your actions promptly.
13. You cannot talk at night. You can do joke votes like "zzzzzz" if you want but don't let it get out of hand. Different moderators have different tolerance levels. (I generally don't like it too much, but I don't mind the occasional joke).
14. If you have any questions or doubts, send a private message to the moderator and ask for help. It would be much worse to remain unsure about your role, mafia rules, whatever than to ask the moderator and then understand.
15. This is the basic list of rules. Moderators will have their own specific changes or additions to rules. Make sure to check them. 16. Have fun!
