The trouble with state-sanctioned murder is when it turns out that the evidence was fabricated, or just plain wrong.
"Sorry" doesn't really cut it for the bereaved families.
I actually think life in prison is a harsher punishment than execution. It gives them longer to reflect on what they did and suffer the consequences; hanging is over too quickly.

3 children, 1 teacher killed in shooting at Bend, Oregon, elementary school, police say; suspect dead

Three children and a teacher were killed, and two others critically wounded, in a shooting on Thursday at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, authorities said.

The suspect, a 16-year-old male, was shot and killed by a bystander, Bend police said.

Along with the teacher, the three children killed were ages 5, 8 and 11, Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz said in a news conference Thursday night. Two others, a 7-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher, were taken to St. Charles Medical Center with critical injuries. No names were immediately released.

Palatine police and the FBI will hold a press conference Thursday morning after sources say a tip from a concerned coworker helped to thwart an alleged mass shooting plot at a Hindu temple in the western suburb.

According to court records, 19-year-old Alexandros Paporakis, of Palatine, drove to the temple Sunday with the intent to open fire, but his rifle malfunctioned and he drove home. Several sources familiar with the case say a co-worker then notified police of the plot, and Paporakis was arrested Sunday before he could return. (...)

Investigators say they found a manifesto apparently written by the teenager-who called himself the "Aurora Shooter." They say he "expressed pleasure calling himself a sociopathic white supremacist Neo-Nazi filled with hatred, fantasizing about mass murder nearly every day."

Paporakis is facing gun charges and stands accused of making a terrorist threat. A Cook County judge has now ordered him held without bond and has put a jailhouse healthcare order into place for the teenager, noting that he's being treated for ADHD, depression, anxiety, and receives hormone injections for gender transition.

The shooting of the KILLER in Oregon was by a gun toting parent who legally had a permit to carry his gun, the one used to kill the Bad Guy, who was truly a Bad Guy.

The shooter was killed by a civilian who witnessed him enter the school with a firearm.

The good Samaritan has been identified as 36-year-old Kaylub Giamanco, a parent of two girls who attend the school. His brother, Kyle Giamanco, confirmed Kaylub's identity to NBC News, saying he was driving by during his lunch break when he heard gunshots and saw the gunman enter the school. He is a conceal-weapon permit holder, his brother said.

The motorist witnessed a person throw a shotgun over the fence on the school grounds before climbing over the fence, so they stopped and yelled at the person who then turned around and fired at them. Thank GOD that the parent engaged and neutralized the gunman; otherwise, the number killed at the school would have been MUCH Greater.

As I said previously, there are too many guns in the hands of too many bad guys and CRAZY people in the USA. Ideally, there would be less need for good citizens to have guns. And without guns, some bad and crazy people would still find ways to kill. There would be much fewer mass shootings (killings) without ALL these Guns, FOR SURE.
