The catharsis for the antiwar movement during Viet Nam was the draft. The powers that be know that there would be a repeat of such if they tried to reinstate it. If there had been a draft for Iraq, you would have seen 10 times the negative response, but since no one was forced to go, apathy won the day for Bush and his boys. For this reason i would like to see the draft reinstated.
out of curiosity (I'm not refrencing military actions just a point of interest) someone has your family held at gun point, you're free and have a gun, do you shoot him?
no, you identify yourself as a secret service agent, and tell him to drop the weapon...if that doesn't work, then you aim for the shoulder...either you'll hit, or scare him...
what i'd do is wait untill i got a draft notice then if it was the marines i'd join if not i'd head to the marine corp recruiting depot and sign up there and a few days later tell them about the draft notice. if i got no letter at all id go on with my merry ways
Fool me once, strike one. Fool me twice, strike...three.
Betcha didn't know that marines have almost a 40% higher casualty rate than the army. If you want to be able to go back to your merry ways when your tour is ended, join the air force or the navy.

If Clinton becomes President(although I assure you won't happen) then women would be eligible for the draft.

probably not...she can't change that without congress approval, which they won't give...
With a Democtratic Congress and Hillary as President then a lot of horrible things will happen. She would surely push for more women's rights and I say that if women are 100% equal to men in every way then they should be drafted. My actual opinion is that God has given men and women different fortes and responsibilities and that...well nevermind, I don't want to get in trouble.

Omigod! Horrible, horrible things could happen! I mean, give those women more rights and there's no telling what might happen! The nerve of those nasty Democrats to think of making them equal to us men - we need to storm the battered women clinics and knock some sense into those bitches! Subjugate them damn it! Put them back in the sweat shops where they belong.

thank you for making me snort coke all over my computer...

Not the politicians' children, that's for sure.
Exactly! These politicians do not care about us, they never have and they never will. We are just a taxable and expendable number.
I am very much so a patriotic person, but what has patriotism got to do with any of the wars that we have been involved in in the past 50 years? (except for us brits, who had the falklands war, which was a war that I commend)

Well, should Hillary and her hordes of closet-Marxist, man-hating, fork-tongued feminists forcibly gain control of the country and install involuntary placement of women in combat zones, I would probably be safe from their fiendish, Lesbo-communist scheming.
My record of political involvement pretty clearly shows me to be anti-killing and pro-living, a good candidate to be a Conscientious Objector. I've worked with an anti-Capital Punishment group for some time now. I had some anti-war papers published during the Afghanistan War (still a much "nobler" war than the one we're in now... though it's still not over, just forgotten). I can honestly say I wouldn't have joined up nor accepted the draft during World War II, were I a man. If this weren't enough, I'd gladly go to prison (if fleeing to neutral territories weren't an option).

Good point, well made.
For the record I'd rather go to jail than fight in an illegal war.

get jailed, jump bail, join the army if you fail...
