Warpath of the Native Americans [vacation]

Postby MarVal on Sat Jun 30, 2007 8:57 am

I wanne make a map of indigenous peoples on the continent Northern America, i.e.:
    - Native Americans in the United States
    - Canadian natives
    - Aboriginal peoples in Canada, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit
    - Alaska Natives, natives of the state of Alaska, including Eskimo-Aleut peoples (Inuit and Yupik Eskimo peoples, Aleuts), and Athabascan, Eyak, Haida, Tlingit and Tsimshian peoples
    Version 02
Larger map :
(681x800)

Image

There are 65 countries and 10 continents.

65 countries gives:
- 21 countries for 3 players, 2 neutral
- 16 countries for 4 players, 1 neutral
- 13 countries for 5 players, 0 neutral
- 10 countries for 6 players, 5 neutral

All feedback, suggestions and critisism are welcome.
Such as the army bonuses right, the (attack/defense)positions of the countries, gameplay and more.

So let us know what U think about the map Warpath of the Native Americans.

Sounds like a good idea to me. The base map looks like it has lots of potential and if it turns out anything like BeNeLux then I'll be greatly impressed. :D

The assumed continents on that map look hard to defend...sounds like it's time for some natural borders! The Rockies, Mississippi River and such would help make it easier to defend them.

natural borders

Postby owenshooter on Mon Jul 16, 2007 9:13 pm

natural borders would be great... and using the rivers for attacking or transporting stuff like buffalo or corn or whatever... i don't know!! some sort of goods transfers would be cool.. anyway, good idea, should be interesting to see how it comes together...

Thanks, and I've got an idea to make forts on the map, who can decrease your army amount?

Let me know, I'm still working on the colors and borders.

It's a bit hard to give feedback until we have some actual territory borders. The colours are nice though.

Perhaps the upper blue continent could be divided into more than one continent?

I think it's a great idea. But if the colored in section are going to be some of the borders, then I'd suggest changing some of them. For instance, the really big blue section that covers Canada is too big in my opinion.

But since this is preliminary, I'd say go for it. I'd like to see another version or two before I start commenting some more.

SW tribes

Postby mybike_yourface on Sun Aug 19, 2007 8:43 pm

look cool. i like the idea. there are many more SW tribes you could include. the Tohono O'odham for instance aren't the only O'odham. and let's not forgot what is now northern mexico and the Tarahumara and other tribes. and the folks who's tribal ties such a the O'odham cross the border. i'm interested to see where this go's as a draft. you'll have to move some stuff around(like the placement of some of tribes in AZ). keep up the good work. i can't wait to see where you take this interesting map idea!

I'm working on the other tribes. I almost have most of the tribes in Arctic and Subarctic and the borders of them.

And thanks for your suggestions and compliments :D

Eskimo ?

Postby Tegebe on Thu Sep 13, 2007 8:29 am

Shouldn't you replace Eskimo by Inuit ? (Eskimo are Finnish arctic etnies I think).
I'd like to see the paths between each native tribe also. Nice start.
