You might as well read it. I, too, don't really like the book at all, but you might as well finish it. You can close the book after reading the last page, be as disgusted as I was with the ending, and then feel truly satisfied in having read the ENTIRE book, really having given it a chance, and still having hated it.
You've come this far. Just finish it.

Hmm, that is rather soon. Well, I say give it your BEST GO. Poetry doesn't take long to read, and no one really expects you to UNDERSTAND IT, so the other book shouldn't take up too much time.

I thought I was the only one that hated that book. I also hated Call of the Wild. Give me just about anything written by Alexandre Dumas any day over some of the crap they made me read from a required reading list in school.

I really don't appreciate it at all, I liked his collection of short stories a lot (forget the title of the book) but so far, this book has just sucked ass, maybe I'm too young to understand it or something but IMO it is a shit piece of writing

I think as long as you are somewhat professional in the way you word things, it's totally appropriate for you to rip it to shreds if that's your opinion of it. There are many so-called "classics" which I just couldn't stand. I know, I know...I'm just not sophisticated enough to get it. Good luck on your report.

nope, never heard of sparknotes. Last year when we read his collection of short stories, we went way in-depth with Hemingway and his iceberg theory and writing style. We even had to write a short story using his style. I understand his style and methods, I think I am just missing the overall theme right now. maybe if i finish the book it would help.

well sparknotes is great, if you're too lazy to finish the book just go to sparknotes.com or something like that, just make sure that you don't copy the summary word for word
