Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

Thanks Scott!!
I'm guessing this was before I cost ya a victory against poo
You were one striper when I posted- now a captain. I've said the same about many others when they just started, most are doing extremely well. Nice job---

this conjures up a very messy smelly image

I have played against some fine players below lieutenant rank all the ways down to cooks that can play well. With this in mind i'm wondering who people think are the best players below 1,800 pts. I'm going to nominate Amanda1 having played both with and against her in several games now i think her score significantly underestimates her skill level.
Your question is a contradiction in itself. You don't need a nomination for that. Best player below 1800 point is the one who has most points, but below 1800, i.e. the one with 1799 points. The scoreboard determines that.

One of the few "good" players who will play with (and train) new players - anyone who will risk their points as well as their armies is a better player than many
excellent choice although not sure if he really meets the criteria and last time i looked he was a captain but he may have dropped pts recently
I am a lowly sargent LOL, But against all these fine names I pale in comparison. I have played them all and all of them are great players. They have taught me most of what I know of this addiction called CC
