War of 1812 Map?

For some reason, i have a desire to create a new map....It probably wont happen, but i was wondering what you thought of this idea. I thought that a map of the northern front of the war of 1812 would be fun. I know a bunch of you other CC guys live just across the St. Lawrence river from me, and i thought maybe you'd be intrested in it. Of course, i want to create a dynamic war map that would interest players from different areas too. I was also thinking of a new twist to the map. Certain places or "countries" as it were, would be special in the game. For example, during the war, a major battle was fought at Fort Niagara. The person who holds Fort Niagara would be given one army on the fort at the begining of each turn. There would be many such areas located around the map that relate to actual forts of the war....

Any and all feed back would be great, i want to make this work. I've never made a map before, so any help you guys could offer would be fantastic.

I've thought that maps of different historical eras are bound to be coming. It would be cool to have a roman empire map, or maybe one of the Greek City States.

Obviously, it's just a matter of time before we run out of modern geographical areas and once all these map makers have got their skills perfected they're not going to want to stop, and are going to be looking for more map making ideas.

I don't remember a lot about the war of 1812, but would you get extra armies for burning the White House?...lol

Yes please! Another place would be ancient Mesopotamia, you know, Gilgamesh times. They certainly did lots of fighting there...

I'm all for war maps, but what happens when the wrong side wins? I know no single player would be representing one side, but you could make it so that all along the border (except for maybe one spot) it's one-way attacks only from the winning side to the losing side.

P.s. done all I could to avoid trolling by suggesting which sides this would be

i dont know if it would really matter if the "wrong side" won or not. The war itself didn't really have any clear cut winner or loser and even if it did, i would imagine that it would be fun to play regardless. Rewrite history as it were...
