Andy Rooney is one of the greats in Broadcast Journalism... He started as an Army Journalist- something they don't have anymore. He was in WWII and was in a plane when it bombed Germany.

First of, I would like to say that I agree with a big of what Jay wrote (even though his insecurity necessitated that he invents an authority to hide behind ). As for the rest:

And they have a right not to tolerate you. And every person has the right to express their lack of tolerance in their own way (otherwise, they would have to tolerate people who want protection from the certain forms of intolerance).
For example, you can express your lack of tolerance for the black waiter by calling him "Nigger" or a "Chimp", but he also has the right to express his intolerance toward biggots by peeing in your coffy or knocking your lights out.
I agree that forcing tolerance is stupid. However, so is being intolerant, because it puts you in conflict situations for no gain. But, if you think that you're geting your polutted coffey's worth, go for it.

That must have been an interesting way to die. Were they trying to stop immigration ships from entering the New York harbor by swiming in their way?
