CC Killed my clan for no reason and they don't care!

My clan was deleted several months ago since we did not use our forum space. I explained to King Achilles in 3 different emails that everyone in our clan either knew one another personally and would see them in person everyday, or chatted via email daily. Therefore the use of our forum space was completely irrelevant. Regardless, King Achilles yanked our clan due to "inactivity". DESPITE being actively involved in 2 clan wars at the time and had 3 clan wars under out belt. (we were just getting started)

Since this happened, my "clan" has now gone from 20 paying members down to 4 paying members (the other 16 didn't pay for another year). Since my other "clan" members have all rejected their premium membership this year....CC basically killed my clan for no good damned reason. I am realizing CC is making enough money, so they don't care if they lose a few here or a few there....but don't kill our fun for the sake of keeping a FORUM alive.

Bottom line....I have NOWHERE to air this complaint other than to King Achilles (who is the one who yanked our forum). So I'll throw it into this General Discussion thread hoping to get a response from someone who takes my money and can explain why you've disbanded my clan-----which was the core reason why myself and many other logged onto this site 3 times a day.

Why didn't you just post in your forum? You could have made a "King Achilles is a dick" thread where clan members could have complained daily about how unfairly KA is treating everyone in your clan.

Yes we do, Hoodoo Operator. However, we also have to follow certain requirements. Having your own clan forum active is very relevant in maintaining your own clan or usergroup. If you can not comply with this simple need, then your clan will be deleted. Having your own ways of communicating with each other will not cut it.

Keep your clan forum active. If you have your own ways on how to get things going in your group, we also have very simple procedures on how you can keep the clan standing.

Preserve the minimum number of active members, including a leader, and make use of your clan forum even for at least every month. Is that so hard to do?

If you and your members can not follow this, then do not be surprised if the clan becomes a candidate for deletion. If that is how it became to be, there will always be an announcement first. If the leader and the members still check their clan forum, then they should take notice of that announcement and act on it. The outcome depends from your responses and actions. If the members do not even bother, ignores it or is just too busy to even make a response, that too, delivers a message. We informed you and we gave you time. Unfortunately, your members probably had their own way of doing things and still could not make your clan forum rise from the dead.

I have no idea who this clan is. Clan wars are best managed via your forums here. Again, there were other options and responses to King which you failed to take as suggested in my pm.

Forum use should not be a requirement to keep a clan. CC has no other way to guage usuage and the lazy thing to do is just say forum = vitality.

Could one start a clan of Forum Mimes, only to have it dissolve in a few months?

I'm just still upset that my clan was deleted (and we were informed of being deleted in our useless forum....which nobody saw) and we were deleted not for inactivity in clan wars but for inactivity in a forum space.

I used email to disperse Excel spreadsheets to set up our clan wars, IN GAME CHAT (which I think is the most important place to talk about a game) and face-to-face chat. How was that "having our own ways of communicating"? Our forum space was irrelevant. Posting a joke in there once a month was not something I could remember to do. And it cost me.

I just don't think it's a fair way to decide if clans are active or not.

Unfortunately, your members probably had their own way of doing things and still could not make your clan forum rise from the dead.

Surely if they are customers it doesn't matter how they do things (as long as they don't hurt the rest of the site). According to Hoodoo, 16 players who used to be in the clan havn't renewed. Assuming the loss of their clan was the cause for all of them to leave (which it easily could've been), that's 400$ profit you've lost the site owner.

They should have indicated that they were still an active clan (which I am highly skeptical of) and did not wish to have a private forum. LOD at one point did not have a forum here as we used an off-site location.

You can blaim them all you want but the deletion of the clan that lost the company business.

At this point, I don't believe the clan deletion was the trigger. The clan was deleted months ago by admin and it is only now that I'm hearing about an issue. I am skeptical of these claims. It takes less than a week to re-establish a clan, especially if you have the members. Let's see that action step then....

Seriously, get the same group back together and send in an e-ticket. Making a huge deal out of something that can be remedied as easily as hitting a restart button, and obviously you didnt lose any important information in your forums as you didnt use them... Starting fresh might be a better thing anyway as im pretty sure most did not even know that your clan existed, because major clans keep themselves organized through the CC Forums...

perhaps im missing something, but why do you need a forum that you dont use? why not just carry on with a thread or something simpler.. conquerclub doesnt 'delete' clans, only forums that dont get used... this doesnt prevent you from participating in anything clan related that im aware of... but it doesnt sound like you guys were very active anyway, since no other clans here seem to have heard of you. what were you involved in?

That is one 40 game challenge that was completed in 4 months. Not too shabby actually.

However, that means your clan has done absolutely nothing for the last 4-5 months. That is a shame, I'd like to see the clan area grow.


My suggestion is to recreate the clan and pull them together.

And it was suggested that we just needed to state that we would use an off-site forum to conduct our business. Which is precisely what I said on numerous occasions and I still lost the clan.

Please don't be skeptical of our clan. We played any challenge that came to us, and we played fair and owned up for every win and loss. I guess we we were not real hot on the forum scene, but we all showed up to play and did not miss turns.

Discussing this here in this forum my be the wrong place to do so, but I just wanted to air my frustration with this system. I am pleased with the responses and only hope that forum use and "active" clans are kept separate.

hoodoo had a clan with some friends

they didn't use their forum to communicate but used email and stuff instead

because of that it looked like they were inactive

because it looked like they were inactive the clan was deleted

not just the forum but the clan


Now, I've never been in a clan and don't plan to be either, but I suppose there may have been some extra features besides the forum that were useful, maybe being listed as a clan or something like that.

there are no extra features.. the only special thing that clans have available are a forum. they can still be a clan without a forum. the listing of clans is updated by marval and jpcloet, and as jpcloet mentioned earlier his own clan(AOD) functioned for a time without a forum.
