How random are the combat rolls? The rolls appear to favor the defender in most cases. An example is a game I am currently playing in which I have lost over 30 armies over the last 4 turns trying to take a single region. Throughout that time I have only inflicted ONE casualty on that defender. REALLY?!
I know it seems like I'm just a poor sport, but I am really trying to give this game/website a chance. It just gets frustrating when turn-after-turn I get nowhere because I can't seem to win any battles. Very frustrating?
There have been many threads about this, all conclude that the dice are random. They do get streaky sometimes, but they even out in the end. And the dice do favour the defender, if the dice are the same the defender wins.

The dice favor the attacker despite the fact that if the dice are equal the defender wins when the attacker rolls 3 dice and the defender rolls 2 or 1 dice/die and when the attacker rolls 2 dice and defender rolls 1 die. All other time's the dice are in defenders favor.
Better odds and losing ties aside, it seems unbalanced when I lose 7 armies to kill 3. I have noticed another anomoly: the defender gets a 6 on his first roll far more than the 1-in-6 times it should happen. I know I'm just beating a dead horse here, but I had to get this off my chest. I have lost three games in a row due to losing an excessive amount of armies in the first several turns just trying to take a single region.

You may have solved it there. I'll try to remember the "good" attacks a little more.

If you are losing that badly STOP AUTO ASSAULTING.
This post was made by jefjef who should be on your ignore list.

There are some theory's...
The dice could impossible be random because it's trying to act random. If you try to act random you can't be 100% random because you try to deliver a certain patern (in this case a random patern).
If you have a computer dice that delivers 1-2-3-4-5-6-1-2-3-4-5-6-1-2-3 etc.etc. and you would analyze the times each numbers have been thrown than you'll get a perfect random score, though it's absolutly not random.
Though, I think the dice on CC are as random as they can be, but who knows..?
Just think of the dice as a pendulum. It may swing towards to the unlucky side, but it will always swing back. When you notice your dice are unlucky, play smart, don't make unnecessary risk.

Yes indeed, KLOBBER made many long posts about the dice. However, he only proved the absence of randomness in his own mind. In reality, he proved nothing.
