Trolls.

So it seems that we have quite a few trolls in our midst.

Or, rather, we have one or two trolls that own multiple accounts.

Don't talk to these guys. They're just trying to get any attention they can because their lives are pathetic and this is what makes them happy. It doesn't matter what you say to them, because the most incendiary retort you can come up with will only make them smile because their #1 goal is to get under your skin and drag you down to their level.

So don't talk to them. Don't flame them. Don't vote in their miserable little polls.

Just ignore them. Please. For all of us.

Grim, when i began posting under their topic, i had no idea that it would escalate like it did.

I personally regret even getting into it; though its pisses me off to see someone as great as Lack getting talked about in such a manner.

I apologize to the entire CC community, in my haste to defend lack and every other honorable player here, for stooping to their level and for making unnecessary and vulgar comments.

I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any reprimand that Lack or the community sees fit.

Dude, what reprimand? You just talked, as far as I can tell. They probably would have gone to about three pages without everyone contributing, but it's so hard not to contribute to something like that. Plus it gave me a few laughs from some of our comments to them (Our being the community, I was unfortunate (Or fortunate?) enough not to be there during the time

).

"Don't feed the trolls" is a good policy, though, so we'll have to remember that next time I guess.

Since, due to Lacks superlative efforts, we now have an "IGNORE" function that can be used to keep offensive players from one's games...., is there a way an "IGNORE" feature could be used that would automatically weed any miscreants posts from a thread that one reads?

I admit to not being computer savvy in the programing sense, so I'm not sure what could or could not be done.

These LOSERS, I suppose, could easily be added to anyones gaming IGNORE list, and if enough members did that they would be pretty much left to play with their own abominations.

So sad when looking back when I was the age of some of these kids and I was working on an apple orchard, going to school and saving for my first motorcycle.....dating, reading, competeing in sports of choice.......This "shallow end gene pool" has me thinking that sterilization could be a viable option. If not just let them paddle in the deep end without community support in which case they would fail miserably and hopefully commit suicide.

My thoughts.....Sorry if it offends anyone.

Your thoughts offend me. I think it's a narrow minded view, and also a bad idea in terms of genetics... but without commenting any further it strikes me that this is fulfilling their "attention seeking" wants. So I'll make no further comments on this or any of their posts... unless they post something constructive.

That might work, but it also runs the risk of other people being very confused when someone else who hasn't ignored them responds to their post. Say, Poster A makes a reasonable suggestion, Troll makes a random pointless insult, and Poster B responds to that. If you've blocked the Troll's post, it could look like B was trying to shoot down A.

If nothing else, it would at least need to have a big, clear "BLOCKED POST" marker taking the place of anything an ignored person writes. Possibly with a link to see what the content of the original post was, in case other folks respond to it.
