Hasbro Forces Zynga to pull ATTACK from FB.

Post by mibi »

If you were not aware, ATTACK! was a Risk clone on FB, run by Zynga.

It's now been removed due to Hasbro's action. Attack had around 30-50k ACTIVE members, twice CC's numbers.

If you have played ATTACK you will know that the clone was pretty spot on, same map, similar iconography, etc, this shouldn't be a surprise but lets all hope CC is on more solid legal footing.

They did this to the Scrabble game on FB as well and that had hundreds of thousands of users. I'm guessing there less chance they will come after this site as I've never heard of it outside of social networking site atm (and CC is no real place to start if they do start venturing outside).

Well they already attacked us by taking down the classic and middle earth maps and the incident with changing the terminology, dice to assault cubes etc.

Hopefully that is all they will do to us as that was all they could do last time.

Fear not, gentlemen! This place has plenty of resources to pull from. With the help of local lawyers, CC will fight lawyers with lawyers.

No lawsuits, just for advice in order to avoid getting burned by Nasbro.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen and those who are gentlemen but prefer to be ladies and also ladies who prefer to be gentlemen, thank you for your time.

You can't really go lawyer for lawyer with a billion dollar company, but i think CC is in the clear. ATTACK! was a pretty flagrant violation, not to mention other major problems it had.

It really was just Risk. I only played one game of it. I walked it and I'm only a cook!

I think risk could learn from CC and maybe put out a few different boards.
