Concise description: I have seen some complaints lately on players that join fog games and then give opponents' positions away to other players, which really takes the enjoyment out of the fog game. I would like to see Conquer Club make this a violation of the rules officially. Currently I think the way it reads in rules is that this behavior is discouraged but stops short of it being an actual violation. What you have are less experienced players "teaming up" in fog games to the extent that they would have a big advantage. Most experienced players will not utilize these tactics as they know the behavior is discouraged by CC.
First offense you could give a warning to the offending player.
Second offense you could treat it like any other cheating offense.
These are merely suggestions and I understand CC can handle this behavior as they see fit. Just trying to make an already good site even better.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments: This will benefit the site because it will take a situation that has potential to ruin fog games and deal with it in a manner that will cause more uniformity in the standards of all players that play here and enjoy this site.
I disagree with this. I've only ever said anything aboutpositions once or twice, but those times were needed. I don't see gross abuse of this happening.
I think it's fine as is.

I dont understand why this is even frowned upon to begin with. In my opinion, even if I never have done it, it's part of the game play of fog games. Who's to say the information that is given is true? It could be a misdirection.
The ONLY time this should be punishable is if a player is eliminated and THEN discloses information about the game.
I am going to support this at least partly. I think there should be two types of fog games, one where you can disclose information and another where you couldn't. Maybe even name it something else.
I don't think it should be made illegal because the goal of the game is to win, but any means possible (within the already written rules of the game). If you can bring a leader down by disclosing certain info, you should be allowed to do it.
As for the second part of the discussion, I don't know enough to really comment.

Again, it's not the number of posts. If a single poster had posted a good reason to implement this, it would still be in suggestions. However this doesn't need to be a rule. It is a way to play the game.
In a war diplomats can give info out regardless of how accurate or inaccurate the statements are. Diplomacy is still a factor in fog just like sunny you just see less info. You can say whatever you want real fake or otherwise.
Not allowing this to happen is silly, and unrealistic.

I am going to move this back into the main area, as I felt there was discussion being created about what could be done/what is considered cheating for this concept.

Just because a ludicrous suggestion is posted in the suggestions forum doesn't mean it has to be discussed for 10 pages until someone calls it for what it is.
If this were passed you'd get a maximum level of butthurt and a greatly increased number of reports in C&A. If someone reveals your position, reveal theirs. If you're still more hurt than them, welcome to multiplayer game mechanics.
The whole point was it was premature. There wasn't even enough time for people to read it much less respond to it. If it is going to become a dead thread and become buried, so be it, but there's no need to strong arm the thing. Thx TheForgivenOne for unlocking it.
At any rate, you can totally screw someone in a fog game just for the sake of being vindictive once you are out of it. Should this be allowed as well? Maybe there should be some instances that are allowed and others that are not (as others have already suggested). So can't this facet be discussed further? As far as suggestions go I think a lot of people throw the baby out with the bathwater for lack of any comprehension of a circumstance beyond their own current situation.

I'd like to make it clear that I moved the thread because it won't happen. This is a legitimate part of game strategy, and there is absolutely no reason for it to be against the rules.
Also, don't call anyone an idiot in Suggestions. If you want to talk about how stupid someone is go to Off Topics or, better yet, get over it.
Who cares??? This is what the FOE feature is there for! If you dont like what someone does in game, foe and rate accordigky. It's not against the rules and shouldn't be.

Actually this is not done that often as most players know it's inappropriate. But would be nice when it is done that there is some recourse. Just like the for instance that Terrance gave of an eliminated player getting in a tizzy and spilling the beans.
Anyhow thanks for unlocking it as I do feel it is a good discussion topic. If it weren't somewhat of a violation already then Conquer Club would not consider it "frowned upon" as it states about fog games. Thanks for unlocking the thread however because I pay my 25 dollars to play here as many others do and my opinion is pretty important even if just to myself. Get a life Blake.

It is not even "somewhat of a violation" by ANY means and the only people who "frown upon" this are fog snobs that think just because some territories are hidden that people aren't allowed to talk. There is no recourse because it is not against the rules, nor should it be, nor will it be.
This game sometimes relies on the use of diplomacy and fog games are not an exception.
