nuclear spoils and not finishing one's turn

Post by GloryOfThe80s »

Hey all. I'm playing a nuclear spoils game and my opponent starts taking a turn but does not finish it. So he attacked, but then went offline while his turn was still running.

Will he still get a spoil for the attack performed, or is the nuclear spoil only earned by clicking 'end turn'. Because if it is, would this be considered a form of cheating? I have noticed this type of behavious by other opponents in the past however I don't know if this was coincidence and I'm just being paranoid :-s

As it stands now, you are allowed not to end your turn. When playing with nuclear spoils and you have your 4 spoils with mostly your own territories, then it pays not to get the 5th. So not ending your turn allows you not to get that spoil. Just note that when you use chained or adjecent reinforcements, this means that you cannot fort when you have also attacked... it is quite a hefty price in some games.
Not cheating so far, but feel free to rate people accordingly. Although I have noticed quite a lot of people use it that way, so it seems more or less common practice.

it's considered a strategy. some people do not like it. others swear by it.

i personally don't do it often as to not slow the gamepace down too much, but in tight situations i also time out.

Personally, I think it warrants cheap tactics unless the player indicates its unintentional and was caused by real life emergency/broken internet connection.

It should be considered cheating. You should earn a spoil at the end of turn whiter you end it or the clock expires. Just my thoughts not tge way things actually work.
