Thing is,there is no single Christian position on just about anything.Just look at NS and Zimmah arguing obscure points of theology on a recent thread.You must know there are countless denominations in Christianity,each convinced they are correct,shouting 'blasphemy',at each other.What are the odds of any particular brand of faith being inerrantly correct about hell,if the concept is even coherent to begin with?DangerBoy wrote:The thread misrepresenting the Christian position on hell got me to thinking how many people here know that CC atheists intentionally spin religious subjects. Just wondered how many?

+1Phatscotty wrote:Atheists know far more about Christianity and a book most of them have never read than Christians who practice Christianity and read the Bible regularly.
Most Atheists, in my experience, have decided to be Atheist cuz bushes don't talk and God is not an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. Therefore, they are Atheist.

You do realise there have been studies done that pretty clearly show atheists do indeed know more about religion than religious people, right?Phatscotty wrote:Atheists know far more about Christianity and a book most of them have never read than Christians who practice Christianity and read the Bible regularly.

I know that you now and we know that these are your observations, but why do you seem to invest so much into them for conclusive conjectures about issues, etc. rather than find something that has credentials and is held to a higher standard in academics?Most Atheists, in my experience, have decided to be Atheist cuz bushes don't talk and God is not an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. Another observation. I am hard pressed to recall a single Christian who posted a Christian thread pushing Christianity. I can recall at least 50 Christian threads by Atheists and non-Christians though. But that's what this forum is here for. Like I have always said, if you want a good look at how and where fundamentalist Christianity is spouted, just follow around an Atheist.
Hope I helped

They (CC atheists) seem to take what they write very seriously when it comes to the Christian faith.Army of GOD wrote:This is the internet. "Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact"

Wow. Just wow. You mean facts like this......from your source?Haggis_McMutton wrote:You do realise there have been studies done that pretty clearly show atheists do indeed know more about religion than religious people, right?Phatscotty wrote:Atheists know far more about Christianity and a book most of them have never read than Christians who practice Christianity and read the Bible regularly.
Here's one I got with 2 minutes of googling: http://www.pewforum.org/U-S-Religious-K ... urvey.aspx
Atheism comes from knowledge, not lack thereof. The best book to read to make one an atheist is the bible. Not just the good bits, but cover to cover, with all the mauling and torture and cruelty and de-humanization of women and genocide.
But hey, I know you guys don't let facts get in the way of your views, so please continue the masturbatory celebrations at being smarter than those thar dumb atheists. LULZ THEY DUN DON'T BELIEVE IN MIRACALES, DUUUUUMB.
You are only right in your "facts" if you change the subject from Christianity to "other worldly religions". Oh, but you wouldn't do that....nooooooooooooooooOn questions about Christianity – including a battery of questions about the Bible – Mormons (7.9 out of 12 right on average) and white evangelical Protestants (7.3 correct on average) show the highest levels of knowledge. Jews and atheists/agnostics stand out for their knowledge of other world religions, including Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism;
You don't have even a cursory interest in truth, or in improving yourself, or in introspection, you just try to manipulate whatever you can to serve your point.Phatscotty wrote: Wow. Just wow. You mean facts like this......from your source?![]()

You would do well to note this thread is not about other religions, it's about Christianity.
LULZ Fail

Haha, I voted no in this poll even though I am the one referenced in OP. It is not our fault that your views are so diverse that we can never accurately portray them.beezer wrote:It is nice to see that most people see through the atheist facade with these threads they create.
I'm so disappointed in you scotty, I should have picked a better life mentor. The Atheists as a whole scored better than the Christians as a whole. You are the one cherry pickingPhatscotty wrote:but, white evengelicals are higher than Atheists. Nice poll that breaks up Christians into 9 different groups, and even further by race.
That like a cherry picking convention for cherry pickers.
When I was searching for what Christians believed, I happened upon this website around the same time. I specifically addressed them, but the atheists here kept trying to interrupt and distract from our discussions. Eventually I made the decision to follow Christ, not entirely based on what Christians here told me, but also on what I read and checked out on my own. I was influenced a little bit by the behavior of the atheists here. While I wasn't entirely sure when I first started asking questions if I would want to be a Christian, I knew I didn't want to be like the atheists.DangerBoy wrote:The thre[*]ad misrepresenting the Christian position on hell got me to thinking how many people here know that CC atheists intentionally spin religious subjects. Lol, look at how hypocritical you are in these two threads. In the "Christian on Christian" thread it was all about the diversity of the religion, in this one its all the Atheists fault for not taking the time to understand.PLAYER57832 wrote:Most atheists refuse to give a real try at understanding Christianity. They have found things they dislike, even disdain and stop there. They have decided that anyone not thinking as they do is not being sensible and therefore have no real desire to even try to understand the other thinking. This is partly because, today, to even admit to being an atheist tends to be a more "extreme" type position. Moderates tend to more often portray themselves as agnostic or simply say "I don't know". (at least those that engage in debate on the matter)
