There is no reason to commit a crime in Peachtree City when you can drive an extra 10 or 15 or 120 minutes based on traffic and find more lucrative quarry in Atlanta.

Those must be some damn safe places - my town is the probably the safest place I've ever lived, nad it's not in the list. One nearby town is, though, at about no 6 if I remember.

11% of them are from the state with some of the strictest gun laws in the country.

That being said, some of them have really high incomes per-capita as well.

Any list that has a Colorado city on there for "safest" is full of it. For a place that gets as much snow as Coorado does, you'd think their drivers would learn how to drive during bad weather. Nope.

Driver Coloradoan "Ooh, black ice at night on a busy street!"
Passenger Coloradoan "What are you waiting for, hit the gas! Nevermind the car in front of us that we've been following 3 feet behind up until this point!"
Driver Coloradoan "Sounds good to me!"
*causes a wreck*

*later being interviewed*
Driver Coloradoan "We were driving nice and safely, then all of a sudden we lost control and hit the car in front of us!"
Passenger Coloradoan "Yeah, a total freak accident!"

You get the idea.
"Eh, whatever."

They also house some of the best schools in the entire country.

Whats crazy is that two of them border one of the top 100 most dangerous cities, along with 7 others in the state.
