Lack of US politics threads

Post by notyou2 »

Has anyone else noticed the lack of threads about the US political parties?

Isn't it great?

Both political parties died. Dead as in no longer able to perform their Constitutional duties. It's impossible for any honest, clear-eyed observer to believe otherwise.

What does "Constitutional Duties" mean?

Election season is over so I'm the only American following politics. Elizabeth Warren is awesome.

I don't miss it at all... but FB is still full of conservative whining
and half truth propaganda, which is such a bore.

Elizabeth Warren is asking the right questions...
curious to see if there will be any results.

I've spent a lot less time here since November. ;)

Not that there was much point to it before November, but the big defeat took a lot of wind out of my sails.

It seems the Off Topics, for now at least, has switched to big subjects, like conspiracies, evolution and other broader topics. But we'll wend our way back sometime.

I don't know if it qualifies as "politics," but I think the forum is full of issues-based discussions rather than Republican vs. Democrat and conservative v. liberal discussions. There has also been almost no mention of "Obama = socialist" and other such non-issue nonsense.

All in all, I'm much happier with the forum.

Her desire to put the regulators' feet to the fire is refreshing. I just hope it lasts, especially if she runs for president in 2016.

If would much prefer a Christie v. Warren general election to a Rubio v. Clinton general election. I like my politicians to be brutally honest.

Me too, it's a breath of fresh air.

I wonder what changed?

Anyone have any reasons why the US political threads have petered out?

It really could be, at least partially, related to two factors: #1 Phatscotty not posting. If I search his lasts posts, these are titles of topics he created before departing in early to mid January:
Spoiler
  • Liberty VS ObamaCare: Back to Supreme Court
  • Brits Warn Americans
  • Hurricane Sandy Aid Package
  • Fiscal Cliff
  • New Study Proves Democrat Policies Destroyed Economy
  • Piers Morgan 100k
  • Repeal Gun Free School Zones!?
  • "The Hobbit" Theater Shooting
  • French Tax Hike: Taxpayer Equality Fail
Or just he was posting in frequently:
  • Harvard Study: More Guns Do Not Mean More Crime
  • Why Stiffer Gun Control/Bannings Are In Order
  • US Government and trust
  • Why would you need a hundred round ammo drum?
  • Should We Publish Names And Addresses of Gun Owners?
  • Just A Quick Question On Keeping Children Safe
And #2. PimpDave not posting as well. Topics he created:
Spoiler
  • International Holiday To Express Thanks to America?
  • The History of the Tea Party
  • Hey World, We Have the 2nd Amendment, so f*ck you!
  • Do Conservatives Thank Obama Enough?
  • The Tea Party Has Killed More Americans Than Stalingrad
  • Tea Party Plotted to Assassinate OWS Freedom Demonstrators
  • Rand Paul: Tea Party Mastermind
  • Let Us All Pause In Silence For the War on Christmas
Not a conclusive study, but I think there exists some correlation between these factors.

It's just because it gets really old pointing out the hypocrisy of the president and his fawning media on every single topic while people around here continue to defend those same horrible and hypocritical policies.

Well, the way the politicians treat the Constitution, it pretty much means exactly what it sounds like: Constitutional Doodies.

I regularly see articles about American politics still. I've considered re-posting some of them here for discussion, but I chose not to, as I feel that people would just think I was just picking on their dysfunctional party.
