Iron Man 3

Did not live up to expectations.

The beginning was pretty good. Then it fucked up, the rest of the film.

Best of the trio, but it's not really saying much.

Just got back from it. Very predictable. But you didnt go to it to be wowed and surprised. It was meant to be closure. ridiculous things, laughs, and RDJ. Thats all. And if you go in with that mindset like I did it was fantastic

Haven't seen it, and have no plans of doing so either. After seeing the trailer I figured out that it sucked, then I read reviews and they confirmed my suspicions. It's one of those sequels where they don't really have a story to tell but because it's such a beloved franchise they figured they could milk it some more. I normally like sequels but this one just seemed a little bit too hollow for me. Much like the sequels of "Transformers", I liked the first movie but the rest was just crap! Wish I hadn't seen them at all, glad I didn't go see Ironman 3 at least.

I actually quite liked it. I enjoyed the action sequences and got some good laughs in. As far as the plot, it wasn't stellar but it didn't bother me either. It at least kept things flowing somewhat. I'd call that a good day. As far as where it ranks in the trilogy...eh probably 3rd out of the three.

I will agree that it was predictable at points, mostly because the trailer gave away too much and at times because the writer made no attempt to hide possible twists/plot points. For instance:

As soon as I saw the guy glowing orange in the trailer, I figured that Extremis was involved somehow. Did nothing to hide that when Extremis was one of the first things introduced in the movie.

I will also say the Mandarin turning out to be a fake didn't bother me like it did some. If anything it kept the Iron Man movies somewhat consistent (The Iron Man movies haven't really delved into the mystical/alien. They've stuck with the technological.)

Me too. Most superhero movies suck. And Iron Man is one of the lamest superheroes ever anyway. Only saving grace I can see is there's some decent actors.

Oh, and I guess that I wouldn't be angry if an Iron Man movie was crap in the same way as I was with comics I like, such as Watchmen and Daredevil. And the Spirit. And Catwoman. And Electra.I think you can begin to see why I usually don't go to see superhero movies.
Spiderman 2 was good. So was the second of the latest Batman series.
Seems to me the best superhero adaptations are usually animated. Love the 90's Animated Batman, and what they did after that with Batman Beyond (Batman of the Future for UK viewers). In modern times, enjoying Green Lantern (and incidentally the animated full-length First Flight is stunning). Some of the Spiderman and FF TV things have been pretty decent, but marvel don't seem to take the medium as seriously as DC do. Oh, and I love the depth of the Young Justice series. Completely ignores decades of DC continuity, but so does DC generally these days.

I've never understood people who read superhero comics. What's the appeal? I mean I read Donald Duck as a kid and loved it, but Donald Duck was funny! Superhero comics are supposed to be tough and cool, and that's just pathetic. The type of people who read them....even more pathetic! Whenever someone says they read a superhero comic I think of the fat guy in the Simpsons who owns a comic books store.
