Who is known in every household,by every person, all around the world?

and how did it come about?

Personally id say its between Jesus and Hitler, Cant think of who is on the TV more then those two.

Please post if you put other, Id love to know what smart ass comments you have

ah, my mistake, never associated infamous with necesarily bad.
just more well known then famous since I dont know who Paris Hilton is.

You know, this Cheesus thing would make a good joke religion. But on a more serious note, I'd have to say Jesus, I mean every protestant, catholic, anglican, mormon, JW, and whatever other christian denominations I've forgotten. Likely every atheist too, pretty much everyone in North America. A lot of people in other continents, countrys. Anywhere there's a christian they're going to preach about it (No offense.). So yeah, Jesus.

Aren't there also ones that blow up abortion clinics?

unfortunately noone knows who my father is....

Cant forget about the crusades,witch hunts,and forced conversions throughout history. Its reason number one that they arent a minority.

Muslims are raising awareness, I do believe that they are world religion number 1 (followers wise) Ofcourse that was before the bombings started..

Yea there not anymore, plus Muslim religion is a little flawed( as is all religion) and its failing apart finally in allot of places. Especially because of the extremist acts. I wouldn't say Allah is that well known, in the west anyway, much more in the east but names like Hitler, Jesus there worldwide names.

I said Buddha. Jesus and Hitler are well known, but only really to a Western audience. Their influence outside of that sphere was pretty limited. Buddha's influence spread throughout Asia, which we all know is the most populous continent and I can't imagine many people in Asia not knowing about him. Most of the people in the West are relatively well educated and would therefore also know about him. Africans and South Americans might not, but that's not as substantial a loss as I think Jesus and Hitler have in Asia and Africa.

"Infamous" is someone famous for something bad or negative. ie. Hitler, Jeffrey Dahmer, OJ Simpson, Saddam Husein, Leon Lett (for kicking the blocked field goal allowing Miami to win the game

) and so on and so forth. Most of the people/beings listed would not be classified as "infamous".
