The sad fact is that if everyone confined themselves to posting and responding politely (well, at least factually), relevantly and in the correct manner, in the proper places, then it wouldn't be an issue.
It shouldn't be necessary for an ordinary member to remind people to keep a post on topic, or asked for it to be moved; and I imagine that if you want mods to do a more assiduous job, then it would help them considerably to free up their time by not posting frivolity, off-topic, insults or just plain nonsense in a thread.

I'd happily see you and around 10-15 other posters go for him to come back. Less SJWs and more entertainment, within the rules. General Discussion died when Owen left and when some more talented posters tried to give it some humour-filled life, the SJWs and mods shut it down. Now we're back to the same old stale forum.
