Okay, perhaps I was tired, and missed the poll creation tab. Instead of pointing it out to me (as TeeGee did, thanks ) you chose to be sarcastic and try to embarrass me.
That says rather more about you and your failings than it does about my slip.
It really is not the way to treat people who don't know as much as you, if you want them to hang around. It's like telling off a child because they don't push the right buttons on your car's satnav - having never been told or being too young or uninterested to learn.
Maybe think twice about the consequences of your behaviour sometimes.
And I know, because of the shallow people that some of you are, there will be a predictable response that you think is funny. Think about whether that helps retain potential new members.

That’s a pretty long write up to explain how you’re better than me.

If you asked about making a poll I probably would have attempted to assist you. Instead you complained about how you couldn’t.

I have explained how to use the embedded YouTube feature plenty of times. No one taught me these things, they are pretty simple if you actually looked for them.

I wasn't picking on individuals, 2d, as much as the culture. At the time, I thought the switch from premium to freemium had meant that I was no longer able to make a poll, that's all; I was obviously tired and/or distracted. Had it been my first poll, I may have asked, but I did make one before. Perhaps I just forgot how because I'm getting old
As a general rule, I think people are more likely to stick around if people are supportive rather than critical. I've played other games in other places where someone says "What a noob!" - and, if one actually is new, it's very off-putting. Everyone has to start somewhere. Perhaps it's the natural educator in me, but I will always aim to help those who don't know something rather than criticise them for not knowing.
That said, there are plenty of people who deserve some criticism because they should know better than to act the way they do.
Maybe it is too late, maybe it isn't; I've seen a few requests for guide games in the past few months. Maybe if there was a bit more flexibility about changing user names, it would help people to return - on other sites, I used my real name in the early days of online gaming, which I'd never do now because of identity theft. It may also help if some of the suggestions could be implemented more quickly, although I understand that some of them are not easy or quick.

I do not perceive what Apatheist wrote as saying he thinks he is better than you. I think he explained why he ASSUMED (incorrectly) that as a Freemium that he could not start a poll.

It is better to encourage, yes, but I did not see Apatheist ASK for help, as he assumed that he could not make a poll, as a Freemium.

I think all this is simply a misunderstanding. What you two make of it, and where you go from here, is up to you both.

Care about folks hanging around? I hope we can encourage others to do so, and to have FUN playing a game. I encourage others by being cannon fodder.
