the main thing to remember is to cover your butt at the scarab territories. you have to have the whole area and the "amenti" territory to get the bonus. all scarabs can attack each other. if you control the "anck" with a strong force and the scarab with a stong force you'll do well

Essentially, all the big rooms around the edges that connect to the little offshoots are the "explorers." The little offshoots are the "tombs." Each section has a space "amante" which you NEED to control the zone. So basically think of a bonus section as all of those things, which get you three armies for having.
If you control one of those areas, and also its respective "afterlife token," you get an additional two armies. If you control the ankh in the middle and any "afterlife tokens," you get 1 additional army for each token held.
It may sound confusing still, but the hard part is knowing what everything is called on the key.
