Hanza and Carlosinos didn't declare an alliance but didn't fortify touching borders and didn't attack each other despite relative proximity until after eliminating every other player. They play against each other 1 on 1 and are usually teamed up on doubles/triples/quad games but in this particular game, it was standard with 5 players. They pretty much admitted to an alliance in feedback they left to me.
In their response feedback it appears that they might have been under the mistaken impression that it was a team game. Not sure why.
