I have some good news, some bad news and some plain old just news.
The good news is that, like we said before, we are pretty sure (not 100% sure, but maybe 96.2% sure) that we can restore most of the missing game logs. We've been in touch with our server folks over at the data center and they are working on it. We will keep you updated on the progress but we don't have a fixed ETA just yet.
The bad news is that all logs from games archived since some time on Feb 10th or 11th until today have disappeared into the sea somewhere off the coast of Kamchatka - they are gone for good and there isn't much hope of getting them back. Scores were still calculated and wins/losses were still recorded, but the logs and chats seem to have come up with triple ones. (ConquerClub Rule 0 - when something goes wrong, blame the dice.)
The plain old just news is that as of today our archiving has been suspended indefinitely until this problem gets sorted out. This means that from today, no more logs will be lost or disappear. It does however mean that you will see a lot more games in your "recently finished" pile. Once we get the corrupted table fixed and any bugs or knock on problems squared away we will archive those games which have piled up.
We know that this is going to cause some problems especially for tournaments, and we are deeply sorry.
We have been preparing to cluster the database server to add more power so that things like this and the site freezes can be avoided in the future but scaling a database is not as simple as scaling our webserver and is taking a little longer than we hoped. Once we get the DB server scaled you should see huge improvements in site performance.
Thanks for bearing with us through this rocky time. We will get through our teething problems as fast as we can and get you back to the service you expect and deserve.

Excellent news about the recovery, but is this another drop in the boat (or whatever analogy) for recording 1st/2nd/3rd/etc somewhere outside of the game log? Certainly for any future considered tourney stuff this will need to be done. How difficult a proposition is it?
I am happy to report that we have repaired the archived game logs. All should appear except for games archived between Feb 10 and Feb 22 (those are lost for good).
Archiving of recently completed games will now continue as usual.
