Just now, I selected Standard, Terminator, Assassin, public, waiting for players
and in 4 pages of scrolling through, I saw 1...1 person (a Major) higher than Captain in all those games.
Just admit, you guys aren't true ballers and wouldn't have near the rank you did were you to actually play games with us lower ranked folks. You aren't that good. You just game the system with your team games, your private games, and your clans to ensure your rank.
I would not consider 2000 high ranked, perhaps 2500 to 3000 is or higher.
Some players worked very hard to achieve the goals they set out to establish. So, for some, they rather play with higher ranks, or private games, and some are open to the public. I hear what you are saying, but it is each players individual right to play as they choose as long as it is following CC guidelines.

Perhaps, when others will get to know you more through experience and open up some games for you, sometimes it just takes time, be patient. You do well and move up, i am quite sure you will get players playing you, most always happens. Hope this was helpful, peace.

Indeed there are, however, if you really analyse those who put the games up, there are actually few who dare go out and take anyone on.
I agree with the first poster in many ways (although I would have perhaps phrased it differently). I have to say the first response had me reaching for the sick bucket with its smug, supercillious, self satisfied, patronising, condescending lecturing style.

I dont consider 2,000 points to be high, but if you look at my games waiting, I have 45 triples/doubles you can join vs me It would be more, but the site only allows me to have 50 max.

check out my games. in the last few days i've started dozens of 6p assassin games. all public. so far they have been filled with players ranging from cooks to captains. yes it sucks when i lose 60 points in a game and win 47 in another but where's the fun if you don't risk your points??
btw there's also a very logical explanation why high rankers (above 2000) don't appear in many games. and it's a very simple explanation. less than 3% of all the people have over 2000 points so it's logical to find so few of them in public games.

Hey I'm a captain and I still play a lot of public games (that said I'm cooling off all games at the minute - need to give myself some time for other things lol). I'm not the only one either. Captain is now too common a rank to get up your own ass about it. As a few others said you have to be a major or better to be truly considered top of the range. The reasons many captains are captain is either because they're not good enough to compete in the 2000+ games and take advantage of lower ranks or are good players but don't care too much about their rank.
But those guys don't join too many public games because they would lose points - the risk is too high - no matter how good they are. That said, I don't like a lot of the exclusively triples players at that rank who play the public games. Imo you should be good enough to have at least some variation or have the balls to take on more high ranking games against each other.
In all, most captains do play public games, most majors+ do not (but for a good reason) and I bet you'd be complaining if one of the high-rankers did play public games and started hammering you 24-7

I'm not high ranked but am approaching Major, play mostly public games, and those settings have no appeal for me either cypherX. So I doubt you'll find me joining your games. Right now I only have nine active games which are all public and include new recruits, cooks, cadets, privates, corporals and the like.
When you scroll through the many pages of public double/trip & quad tag team fests, very few of them are "random teams" and the high ranked players who create them are most likely going to stomp your butt. So be prepared for an uphill climb if you choose to "join one of those games just to compete against high rankers."

Your thread is about high ranked players not playing against each other though.So I'm confused what you are complaining about.
Do see them starting a few of the skill games (i.e., no cards, tough map, or also freestyle games). There are only a few people of rank Ltnt or higher who I've played in 1v1.
One explanation that is not so concerning could be that a kit if these higher ranked guys will make a goal like to play 50 games on a map, and then start them all at once, and then for days they'll be in those games and you'll see nothing on the ad hoc pick up list.
However it is unquestionable GENERALLY SPEAKING that the top ranks mostly play private games, and often in teams with regular teammates when they do play public games (which is not so wrong if you think of it terms of taking away some chance that you'll be totally shut out on a bad drop second draw game - but it seems a little wrong when you see cooks and cadets who've never played together wandering into these games).
