bottom line is you made a dick move and your opponent has left the rest of us a warning about you.sickmaniac wrote:Great answers here. Bottom line is that I made a dick move, and my opponent overreacted with a negative feedback. Thanks for your advice and candor, everyone.

I was in Japan, and Rozebud was occupying Australia, defending from Siam. I informed Rozebud that the game was getting boring (neither of us had an even remote chance of winning), so I was going to send my troops against him unless he retreated into Australia fully.
My rationale was that I needed a bonus to compete in the game, and I couldn't have Asia or Australia without fighting him. So I did. I took Australia completely, and held it for a few turns before the game ended. Later, Rozebud gives me the first negative feedback of my CC career, saying I "committed suicide." Sorry, but there was just no chance that he was going to win the game, and what was I suppose to do? Stay in Japan with a 3-army bonus for 20 more rounds? I had to make a move and I did.
So, my question is: Was it technically wrong of me to threaten Rozebud with "suicide troops" therefore earning me a negative? Or, was it my right to attack Rozebud even though I knew I we both little chance to win?
I really am upset about this negative, but I'll take it if I broke a rule. Can some senior members look briefly at the game and weigh in? Many thanks!

Like you've never made a dick move... How's that horse you're on? Honestly, think about what you're saying because it has nothing to do with the issue at hand. It sounds like you're implying we think that anyone who "hurts your chances of winning" should be left neg feedback. Obviously that is wrong because everyone who wins "hurts the chances of the other players winning".mightyleemoon wrote:More whiny bitches?greenoaks wrote:bottom line is you made a dick move and your opponent has left the rest of us a warning about you.sickmaniac wrote:Great answers here. Why?
Oh...but he hurt someone else's chance of winning.
Boo-freakin-hoo.
i have made dick moves, i have the negative feedback to prove it. i just don't come here looking for sympathy.sickmaniac wrote:Like you've never made a dick move... How's that horse you're on? Are you retarded? Calling someone a douchebag for leaving a suicide feedback? Of course this game isn't based on friggin' risky moves. It's based on odds and playing probability - not trying to get "lucky" and take RISKS. Huge friggin' difference.mightyleemoon wrote:Isn't this based on the game Risk?
So isn't the idea is that you sometimes have to take a Risky move?
To me...what you did was in spirit of how the game was designed. Sometimes...you just have to take a Risk. Most of the time those kinds of moves don't pay off. But when they do...I don't see anything wrong with it. You made a last desperate move and it worked.
Whining about it is just as douchebag a move as whining about taking 15 and losing them all trying to take 4. Shouldn't be a suicide run but it turned out to be one.
Such is dice...
