I call it being politically incorrect, considering that he really doesn't spare anyone in his jokes, besides, who HASN'T told some of those kinds of jokes before?

I really can't support a guy like that. He steals jokes and that's not okay with me.

As for the topic, in my opinion, he's very rascist, but he's allowed to be because he's a minority. If I (a white guy) told all those jokes, I would get my ass kicked. But I have no problem with his rascism.

dude, come on. the author deserves the credit. if Mencia is making a fortune and fame off the material of someone else, WITHOUT compensating them, then it is a big deal.

i first saw that video last year sometime... probably soon after it was posted online.

the truth is, comedians do steal from each other all the time, but there's almost always a give and take involved. Mencia doesn't give anything in return for what he steals, and so the work-a-day comics start to hate him.

hasn't his show been canceled? i think the backlash from this video brought down Mencia, but i could be wrong.

Dunno if MOM has been cancelled (my faith in God may rest upon that eventuality) (not really) but I saw some promo on Comedy Central for some new sort of Mencia-related drivel.

And. MTG, I'd like to disagree with you on the whole "ignore him" strategy. If he's dumbing down comedy and pandering to his audience (a la Larry the Cable Guy, to suggest another absolutely unfunny comedian) he won't get run out, because people will pay for that, and damage the overall world of comedy. Think about it - Mencia holds a prime spot on basic cable. He is effectively given a soapbox by Viacom to spout damaging ethnic stereotypes with just a patina of comedy to make it palatable. While I generally agree that art is art and should not be tampered with, that's not what I think makes sense here, as Mencia isn't art as much as an exercise in branding. The brand being taking advantage of the basic human desire to laugh at others for being different. Is this an elitist opinion? Probably. I feel like giving money to pandering comedians takes money away from smart, innovative ones. Which is where the real comedy is.

Well, I haven't watched his show in a couple of years because they kept screwing around with the time slot, but if I remember correctly, Mencia himself said on his show that he was going to do his best to give out those stereotypes, and not just anyone ethnic race or religion, but everyone. Thereby giving fair warning.

Also, I kind of like Larry the Cable Guy personally, but that's just me.
