Why did the EURO2008 thread get deleted?

did the OP do this or some Mod?

we want answers, it was a well humoured thread and quite informative to the CC and footballing community. it was only ever ome friendly banter.

I think the fact that the "football is better than soccer" thread survived is proof of one sport's towering greatness over the other.
