I support this proposed change. Terminator games' biggest uniqueness is their not winner take all style, and the winner take all as far as the medal is concerned doesn't quite fit.
I'd guess there's a flag someone that's easy to query to find 'won' games.
Instead of the summing the number of other players in games where the player 'won', count the number of eliminations.
Game Achievement medals that are based on defeating unique opponents only consider players in games that you've won. Eliminating an opponent in a Terminator game will not count towards the Terminator Achievement if you ultimately lose the game.
Which confirms the other half of the situation ...
If you do not get a unique defeat count for any player you eliminate unless you win the whole game ... then if you win the whole game you'll get a unique defeat count for all players - including those eliminated by other players!

Paradice, the terminator award is counts eliminations similarly to how win percentage counts wins. You must either increase your win percentage or maintain at 100% to have defeated anyone, and the eliminated people must have lowered their win percentage or maintained 0%. This calculation works for all game types (including teams). In a terminator game, just because you eliminated 2 (or 6) people does not mean you won.
I think I'm following you there lancehoch [definitely after our PM exchange]... you're confirming how the terminator medal currently works.
But I think ParadiceCity9 already understands how the terminator medal currently works.
And because of that he is suggesting that it should be changed to count individual eliminations in terminator games: The nature of terminator games is that each individual elimination scores points and hence is a desired achievement - regardless of whether the player doing the eliminating is the 'winner' in the usual sense - and it is these achievements that should count towards the terminator medal.
In all other game types only the winner in the usual sense scores points and so it is quite right that, for all other game types, eliminations are counted as unique defeats and hence medals are awarded as they are.
For the terminator medal to have any real meaning (rather than just being an alternate standard medal) I think that individual eliminations must be counted as ParadiceCity9 suggests.

Ya I know how it works, but I think that's stupid because that's the same thing as standard. Isn't it??

And you mean you shouldn't have to win as well, right?

Right.
Just like you don't have to win to get points in a Terminator game.

I think reason that you must currently win the game, because it was an easier process to code and tabulate medal counts. Perhaps when we address the next round of medals, we can include a more terminator friendly awarding!
Just for the record ParadiceCity9 my support carries no more weight than yours. A suggestion succeeds or fails on its own merits - and how well those merits are presented - regardless of who presents them.

Oh, and I was on the side of the suggestion, not on your side

You people have no idea how hard I am having to restrain myself here. The urge to type sarcastic "a mod is also" comments was nearly overwhelming.
In other words, I should get a medal for self-restraint.
Well, I should have until I typed this post. Whatever.

I disagree. The whole point of terminator is that you "win" each player.
HOWEVER, if this change is made, then the numbers should be upped.
Say, multiply each rank by 6 (or 4 or ... just for a start.

I don't understand what you mean.
I think she's trying to say that if this suggestion goes through, the numbers should be multiplied, so it's fairer.
