I can change my flag to anything I want, with any name I choose since I pay for some proxy networks, but I think it would really slow the site down, at least it has whenever I use one (which is rarely and out of necessity)

Yes, but certain ones (mostly paid ones) have an option to completely hide the IP and make it based in a place that does not exist.

When I visit some of my friend's houses, I occasionally take my turns on their comps, and a few of my friend's parents have blocked the site. Only way I know how to get around the block.

"satellite provider" means they have satellite internet. either that or they are playing from the ISS...
