Hey, i do that in 2-player games when the chips are so down. Well not to go after bonuses because that would be dumb. but say if i had 2 territs down on o3/o4 or something on classic shapes, and the winner has a7, i'll attack o1 to expedite the whole winning process. Is that what you mean?hoytdwow wrote:3. Conquer neutral territories to gain bonuses after you already have the game won.
No, I'm not talking about going through neutral territory to get to the enemy, but rather taking neutral territories just for the feather in your cap. (i.e., you already have the game won/have a preponderance of force or other bonuses already, etc.).HayesA wrote:Hey, i do that in 2-player games when the chips are so down. I don't foe people for sucking, or for beating me, only for being a stupid asshole, as outlined above.Timminz wrote:I used to 'foe' people regularly, for sucking at escalating. Then I stopped playing public escalating games. I don't think I've added anyone to my list in over a year.
Oh, i see what you mean now. Yeah, I agree; i hate that too. Kinda rubbing it in someone's face that you have them beat. Though i've seen ppl almost turn games around because of a winner's inability to finish off a player.hoytdwow wrote:No, I'm not talking about going through neutral territory to get to the enemy, but rather taking neutral territories just for the feather in your cap. I've actually played people on the Iberia map who had me beat, but spent 5-6 turns clearing up all the neutral territory just so he could have the whole map.
Me neither. Anymore. Back when I would play 6-8 player public escalating games, nothing pissed me off more than some moron destroying a perfectly good game by deciding they wanted to take Australia with their 25 set. Then I discovered that it's far easier to search out decent players, than it is to try avoiding the shitty ones.hoytdwow wrote:I don't foe people for suckingTimminz wrote:I used to 'foe' people regularly, for sucking at escalating. Exact same outcome here. It used to be the only reason I foed anyone.Timminz wrote:I used to 'foe' people regularly, for sucking at escalating. Then I stopped playing public escalating games. I don't think I've added anyone to my list in over a year.
I've never done that, with 2 exceptions:hoytdwow wrote:No, I'm not talking about going through neutral territory to get to the enemy, but rather taking neutral territories just for the feather in your cap.
