Interview with Sir. Ricco
This week we had the chance to talk with organizer, Sir. Ricco. All questions are reader submitted, so if you have something you want to ask an upcoming organizer; PM me. Next week’s interview will be with Natewolfman. If you have not submitted your questions, you have until Tuesday to either PM me, or post in this thread.
In two weeks, our interview will be with lordvoldemort. Feel free to begin submitting your questions now, I have created this thread for that purpose.

Now, on with the interview.

Q: Hello, Sir. Ricco.

A: Hello

Q: Why did you join CC?

A: Well, I am all ways on the look out for new online games. So one day I was surfing the web for some different games and I happened upon this. I always liked playing Risk, but growing up with three sisters, older than me, I rarely got to play.

Q:What made you want to start running tournaments?

A: I have always been a do it yourself kind of guy. So, I thought, “Hey I am just going to do it.”

Q: Where did you come up with your tournament ideas?

A: Mainly in the shower or random times in the day.

Q: Tell us more about the World War II Series.

A: There are going to be 9 different tournaments, with each WWII map. The winner and runner up will make it to the final tournament. I still haven’t got the game play done.

Q: Tell us more about your announced Age of Realms tournament.

A: Its going to be big. I think I am going to get 144 to 180 to 216 players. Lackattack is going to donate a prize. I got 6 reserves and a reserve system already lined up. I haven't decided yet. And it’s “Official”.
And no I am not the creator of the Age of Realms Maps.

Q: Do you prefer to run tournaments alone or have a long discussion with others and then run it with several people?

A: Alone for sure. Yes I am having fun running the EIOT with some great organizers, but I have always been a solo person.

Q: Describe the experience of your first tournament ran, and first played in.

A: The first one I run was Domination X. I had a great time. I think I only had one deadbeat, and everybody joined their games on time. It run real smoothly except like three games went over 20 or 30 rounds. Maybe even 40.

And the first one I played in was Domination X, too. I got knocked out the first round, so I really can’t say. :P

Q: How many tournaments have you run and how long have they been? How many at once?

A: I have completed seven and the longest was CC Season Championship I which was about a little over three months.

I think 9 will be my most I have run at once.

Q: What is your favorite tournament you've run? Why?

A:Man that’s a hard one. Probably…Battle of Emoticons. I just like the theme of it and the players are really great.
But CC Season Championship I gets an honorable mention.

Q: Is there a specific type of format that you tend to gravitate towards? Why? Is there a format that is your favorite?

A: I really don’t. I am always trying to think of new ways to play a tournament, instead of the same old. But my favorite probably is the bracket. That way you don’t have to be nice to the losers, cause they’re out of the tournament.
Please no letters on that.

Q: Overall, are you playing a lot in tournaments? If not, then why and where do you find your games to play?

A:I am playing a lot right now. Map Blaster I, Around CC in 8 Rounds, and Around CC Open Season are taking up a lot of game space. If it’s not those, it will probably be the Age of Magic games.

Q: In your mind, what makes a successful tournament?

A: A good lay out, meaning, a good a description of the tournament, a clear explanation to the game play and if players think it was a fun tournament when it’s all said and done.

Q: What do you consider to be the most successful tournaments you've seen run?

A: I really can’t say, I know a lot of people have put a lot of time into their tournaments and have tried their hardest.

Q: With experience comes the wisdom of knowing what mistakes you've made in the past so you can avoid them in the future. What mistakes have you made in your tournaments that you are sure to avoid in future tournaments?

A: You want a list. My worst mistake was the first round of Around CC in 8 Rounds. I had to start like 112 games, which I did fine. But when I sent the PMs, some of the games numbers got sent to four people instead of two. All that day I was getting PMs saying, “I went to join this game but its already full”. It took me forever to short it out. Now I double check to make sure.

Q: If you could change one thing about Conquer Club in general, what would it be?

A: Make the map restrictions less, meaning map makers could make bigger maps.

Q: If there was something that the Conquer Club administrators could implement into the game to make tournaments easier to manage, what would it be? Similarly, is there anything you would like to see taken away from Conquer Club to make running tournaments easier?

A: O.T.I.S.!

Q: Is there anything that you would recommend to encourage new tournament organizers?

A: Start small, find out what mistakes you made and fix them. Do this a couple of times and you will be ready to do what you want. It also helps to get your name out to.

Q: Do you have any particular goals for yourself as far as tournament organizing is concerned? If so, what are they?

A:Yes I do. Mainly putting out a tournament everyone will enjoy. I also try to make my standing sheets look more professional. And I try to keep the tournaments updated every day. I also want to find a way where deadbeats aren’t as big of a problem as they are now.

Q: How long do you think you'll continue organizing tournaments?

A: Probably as long as I play CC. But who knows what the world has in hold for me.

Q: What is your best/favorite map?

A:Age of Magic! I love that map.

Q: What other forum parts are you visiting regularly besides the tournament ones? Are you even visiting them regularly?

A: Forum Games. But I haven’t posted a whole lot there lately.

Q: Why did you pick the name Sir. Ricco?

A:Well a friend started calling me Ricco Suave, and I really liked it. And somehow it changed to Sir. Ricco

Q: If you had to choose a different screen name what would it be?

A: I use Col. Ricco, or Elite Ricco in some other games but if I didn’t do those, it would be Death Bringer or something like that. That’s just the way I am.

Q: Name 3 of the most influential people in your life

A: Hitler, Stalin… no I am just kidding. Probably my parents, my youth pastor, and who ever is holding a gun to my head.

Q: Do you have a favorite person on the site?

A: Me of course.

Q: Do you like pie?

A:Love it. I really like it when LV’s mom makes it. I will stop there.

Q: Would you prefer to sing in the rain or dance in hail?

A: I do both…naked!

Q: Any tournaments planned for the future? What are they?

A: Of course. I have as everybody who reads the forum knows, WWII Tournament Series and Official Age of Realms Trilogy Tournament. But I also have two that nobody knows about. The God of CC is one of them. I am going to do one call “One World Economy” OWE for short. This is all I am going to say for now:
Year 2015
Six global Corporation come together to talk about plans for a One World Economy (OWE). Each Corporation wants this done peacefully, at least the CEOs do. The OWE plan has been the most watch plan ever. If succeeds, it will end world hunger and start a world where everybody works together to make money. Then a fateful thing happened on January 3rd 2015. During one of the meets, a bomb goes off and kills all six CEOs. The world goes crazy. With the world depending on the outcome of the meeting, it starts to believe the end is near. Each Corporation blames each other for the bomb, saying that they what complete control of the worlds wealth for there own Corporation. Now there is a rivalry that can not be healed. Six VPs from each Corporation battle it out to take the position of President of their Corporation and put OWE to work for there own corporation. For now a temporary pact between each Corporation has been formed. You must now take over towns, countries, continents, and regions for one goal - to make money. Once you have enough money you can take the job of President and wage war on each Corporation. Deadline – 10 years till the board names their new President.

Q: Thank you for your time.

A: No problem, I had fun.
