Star Trek

Postby maxdetjens on Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:28 pm

Some dont like my solar system map because there aren't any Klingon's. I think its fair to suggest that a Star Trek map might be in order.

I could see that. Perhaps as a separate map? Something like thus: http://www.startreksite.com/maps/map01.html

I'll happily make it but I'd love to hear ideas and be pointed to some cartographic materials.

That looks a bit too complicated for CC, but I like the idea of a Star Trek map. :)

It would be REALLY cool if you had like, not just the Alpha Quadrant, but Delta and Gamma as well. You don't see much of the other Quadrant... Anyway, in the delta quadrant you could have like, borg and portals to fluidic space and all that fun stuff, shape shifters and jem hadar and that sorta stuff, and the only way to get there is through the worm hole by DS9. Ooo, the stuff you could do with this map...
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

I cant believe someone revived this thread.

Copyright would be an issue but like the middle earth map could be worked around. Keep the idea's comming... perhaps, perhaps...

Why just a quote?

About the copyright... uhmmmm well this game got around that pretty well. I don't see a Star Trek type map having problems... just don't totally ripp off or use Paramount's trademarks.

In the past we've had many clashes with copyright. If we cant get a star wars map through, then star treck is equally inlikely.

Dont get me wrong though, its still worth trying and i think it has great potential. Just sort out the copyright before you put any major efort into making a map. After all, lord of the rings and discworld managed it.
