Wish it was something literary and poncey, but the last book i read was "Flashman and the Redskins" which was BLOODY BRILLIANT!
I'm sure everyone is ecstatic that I've shared my scholarly achievements.

Flashman rules! I've read almost all of them. I love him, he's such an absolute bastard!

Check out "Past Shows"

Hmmm, doesn't seem to be any online episodes for download.

I can listen live though so I will tune this weekend, assuming I get the time difference right. Thanks

Good ol' Flashy. This from near the beginnig of "Redskins" (talking about the Yankee/Indian Wars):

Flashman: "As for Custer, he's receipted and filed for the idiot he was, and for Chivington, he was a murderous maniac, and what's worse, an amateur. But if you think they were a whit more guilty than your darling redskins, you're an even bigger fool than you look....Policies don't matter a spent piss..."

I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy in a couple of days lasdt week. Couldn't put it down. Honestly. Dark, hypnotic, bleak as hell, written like a bipolar hemingway... it's incredible. Utterly recommended.

One of my favourite authors. I would also recommend Blood Meridian by him. Gripping, intense fucking book. Not for the weak at heart.

I enjoyed it. I like the idea behind it and it's quite well thought out, but it's also quite badly written. I think it would make a good series of radio plays.

They First Killed My Father.

It's about the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and how people had to survive in it and such.. Written by a survivor.
