Halal supermarket in Paris told to sell pork and alcohol or face closure
This should have been enforced long time ago, no room for those radical Muslim shops.

Nothing new there. There are always some local authorities going too far somewhere. I mean seriously, how many times a year do you read about a mayor trying to impose controversial policies? As long as federal governments keep themselves level-headed, this is just business as usual.

Fyi, burkini's are forbidden in quite a number of places already. Those catholic maffiosi are hardly frontrunners.

Everything starts with local authorities...

I guess Corsica locals like to see bikini bombs, not suicidal ones. I support them 100%

hmmm, I support banning burkini's from public swimming pools(hygiene reasons) but I don't see the problem when it's just swimming in the sea.

Don't forget to ban people observing Ramadan for health and safety reasons.

Yup. Almost as ridiculous as arguing that burkinis are unhygienic.

No need, Jews already sell everything :D

BTW I would strongly recommend France to enforce you to wear Burkini... you are ugly

The thing about Jews is that, even though some of them don't eat pork, none of them give a shit what gentiles eat. Given their, well, sanity and their nation's fame for mercantile acumen, I think that the best way to 'force' a Jewish merchant to sell pork is to offer to buy it from him for a good price.

The scary thing about these bans are that they seem to draw a line between a community that is attempting to adapt and a native community that has decided that it will no longer adapt.

Wearing a burkini would have been no big deal in Victorian England. Wearing a bikini would have been scandalous.

Knocking down, and banning Islamic communities from public spaces, especially when citing hygiene as an issue is in no way integretating.

Native community to adapt to what? To the middle age thinking of the Muslims? Europe had been there, saw it as wrong and moved on. Its time for the Muslims(including you) to do the same.
Alternative is very dangerous, a lot of inhabitants of Europe will suffer but the Islam as a religion will be wiped out from the face of the earth.

Hello in which century do you live in? If you didn't know its 21-st century now
Same applies for your Muslims ;)

No Muslim community has been banned from public spaces, they only need to dress according to the standards of the public spaces. You know that there are standards that need to respected.

In general I agree muslims are seriously being discriminated against, especially when applying for jobs. However they are also getting too much into the habbit of victimizing themselves.

For instance some time ago there was controversy in the city of Antwerp when muslims claimed they were being discriminated against for not being allowed to wear a hijab as city employee. However this was completely blown out of proportion as it was city policy for employees to show themselves neutral to the public. Christians aren't allowed to show their crosses and jews aren't allowed to wear their religious garments; the rule applied to all religions and all ethnicities. Yet as so often, the muslims were the only ones causing a ruckus. Everybody else was fine with it.

This was especially preposterous because the rule came into place precisely because a muslim refused to unbiasly service a person of the jewish community in Antwerp.

There was a similar fuss in my nearby Tesco recently as well. The Tesco had introduced a 'no wheelchairs' rule, and pretty much everyone was following it without complaint, because it was being fairly applied to everyone and they were all reasonable people. Then, typically, some troublemaker had to turn up in his wheelchair demanding he be allowed to ride it into the store because he was unable to move without it. Thankfully the security guard told him to go f*ck himself, because the rules apply to everyone.

Nice joke mrswdk, so the Muslims wear hijabs because they are people with disabilities(presumably in their heads)? :o

I'm wondering what is the name of the illness  Islam maybe?

There is nothing good about this story. It certainly isn't about freedom. It's oppressive and antagonistic. And for any of you Christians out there who think this is good, how would you feel if France, or your country, banned not only the burkini, but also the habit? Or banned wearing crosses on a necklace? Once you legitimize persecuting one religion, you've got license to persecute ALL religion.
