I love Crown too. When I lived in Japan, I remember it was like gold. When I would come home on leave to the states, I always made sure I grabbed a bottle or 2.
A $18 bottle in the States would go for $50 over there!

I was there in 1987, mostly in Okinawa. Crown was indispensable during those weekends where there was either a typhoon or a major storm and we were basically shut inside for a couple of days.

I'm not impressed.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? Beer, wine, bourbon, whisky, vodka, rum?

I happen to be a homebrewer so my favorite is beer. I really don't have a favorite style, I really do love all kinds.

Bourbon is really good. America's true contribution to distilled spirits (although the moonshiners might have something to say about that).

Rum is ok, have to be in the mood for it.

But Scotch.......oh the lovely Scotch Whisky. Single malt, 18+ years old. Heaven in a bottle.

But beer is by far my favorite. I love the history of beer, the art of brewing, and the science of it.

So.......... thoughts?

I thought Luns was very spiritual? which is kool, no problem there, but involving himself in distilled spirits, perplexes me, hmmmm :?

LOL, oh well

Ahhhh........but would you agree that one couldn't get much more spiritual than a monk?

I refer you to the Trappist Monks:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trappist_beer

They get their sustenance during fasting from the beer (liquid bread) that they brew in the monastery.

I happen to believe that they are some of the finest ales in the world. Afterall, if all you're putting into your body is the beer you brew, then you're probably going to make some damn fine ale.

CHEERS !

Patron Silver is my current drink of choice. Straight, not chilled, no annoying salt or lime on the rim.

There's a big difference between drinking beer and being drunk. I know some Christians who say it's never acceptable to drink alcohol under any circumstances, but I have yet to see those Bible verses which back that up. I always know my limit and never drink in front of someone who would be offended.

But wouldn't the biggest sin be to drink Budweiser anyway?

Agreed, one of the best beers. Although Tuborg (Danish); Bavaria (Dutch) and Beck's (German) aren't that bad.

Anyone guess?

Ha, you are wrong....Wild Turkey, gobble gobble

Love beer, all kinds but WT is what I drink, but that Patron is a close second on my list. Lived on the Mexican border for 3 years and developed an immunity to tequila. For a surreal experience...the worm in the bottom of a bottle of Mezcal, that will fix you.
