London

Postby MrBenn on Tue Jan 15, 2008 7:23 pm

London Boroughs
Territories: 42
Continents: 6 ish
Special Features: Territories in Multiple Continents / Not all territories in a continent required to get the bonus / Ranged attacks / One-way-borders / bombardments

Draft Image(yes it IS drawn in MS Paint)

Here's the idea:
All-out-battle to conquer the capital of England. London can be divided into groups of territories in several different ways, so why not have them all as overlapping(ish) continents?

What do people think?

And YES, I do know that similar London maps have been suggested before:

You did that in Paint? Wow, good job. I can't draw a stick figure in paint.

I didn't mention that I was thinking about letting the Airports all attack each other... and that each airport is fully contained within one territory (almost like a sub-territory)

I live in London so this interests me, but not in this style to be honest. If this gameplay were to be chosen, I'd be jealous of New Yorkers. I far prefer that type of map.

Oh dear... I appear to have made a classic schoolboy error...

... can I excuse it by explaining that the compass is on the wall behind me, and I was looking at it in the mirror...

I did the MS Paint sketch before I started working on the Europe map, and this is my first 'real' draft.
I'm happy for people to decide whether they prefer this or tisha's one - after all, they are essentially the same.

A little competition never hurt. :) We've had two maps about the same theme working at the same time before.

That looks much better. Not too fussed between those. Not so much the graphics, but I don't think a simple city map needs auto-deploys and complicated bridges. Just my thoughts :)
