I wish I had found this out before I had to do some research for an assignment during my senior year of college... So this is a Public Service Announcement for all my news-ignorant comrades: Al Jazeera is a legitimate news source. Also, it is a bit more aesthetically pleasing and easier to maneuver (manoeuvre) around than even the BBC site, in my opinion.

Why the f*ck don't you people tell me these things?
Al Jazeera is to terrorists what Fox News is to Republicans. Thats the best way to describe them in one breath.

It is also known that they have contacts with terrorist orginazations and do nothing to aid in their capture. Whenever those new tapes of Bin Laden come out you can bet that they were released to the world due to a personal exchange between Al Qaeda and Al Jazeera. If they wanted to be upstanding members of society they would help prosecute terrorists instead of giving them a voice.

They do present factual information but it is from the vantage point of terrorists.

All news sources are propaganda - I don't think that any can claim to be unbiased

Indeed, however, the beeb did have a rep for being among the most unbiased there was. Sadly, this claim is now forfeit in the opinion of many, including myself. Fortunately we have the internet now, so secrets and lies are brought to book with far more alacrity than they ever were.

I wouldn't say propaganda but yeah all new sources are propaganda. Because they are done by people and people have opinions and these opinions will spill out.

So yeah some bias is acceptable as they are just humans

Yeah yeah, bias and whatnot. Like Harijan hinted at, they seem to be a bit better at getting more into the causes of why things happen more than just the superficial "some guy blew himself up" type of thing that networks I'm used to.

I kinda figured that Al Jazzera was a legitamate, abeit very biased, news agency. Also figured that it is likely that they have little if any relation to the various terror groups out there.
