Re: Classic Map Touch-Up

I'll admit that I haven't been in the foundry for a while (it used to be one of my favourite hideouts) but I remember when the campaign for a touch up started and it looked like it might be going in the right direction.

Good: colour changes to continents

Bad: white army circles and their positioning. I know it was all about making terit names easier to read and make borders visible but too many of the circles seem to be hanging outside their continent.

All in all I 'm not enthused

I have to agree, the light circles make the color images very difficult to read. Although the previous addition had its flaws (it too was hard to read) this is a step in the wrong direction. By the way, the color legend panel is fine.

What a terrible "touch-up".
a) Its much harder to see where anyones countries are.
b) the army circles are now out of place.
c) the white circles make it really cluttered.
d) it strains my eyes to look at it.
e) ARGHHHH!!!!!

I think the changes are fine. I wonder how many people would have complained if there wasn't an announcement that everyone saw that there was a change to the classic map. Some people (definitely not all) may not have noticed.

MORAN people play games instead of reading crap. 80% of the new maps are hiddeous anyway, why do you think most people play classic?

You're right....MORON. No one would have noticed. I would have thought the reason I could no longer read the map probably had to do with something I ate.

idiot.

I agree with the consensus, but I'll try to be a little constructive:

The color changes and everything looks great, but the dots are what is completely distracting. They are so overpowering that the map becomes the background, so you can't really distinguish regions anymore. B/c it makes it so hard to understand what is going on, I would suggest a return to the OLD map until this can be changed. PLEASE

Also, I didn't need a forum msg, this was way obvious and problematic.

Excellent job! I occasionally mistook Iceland and Scandinavia because their names were in weird places, but this is much better. I'm sure it will also be easier to see the digits representing the numbers of armies now.

Keep up the good work!

Lets give everyone some perspective.

The current strength of army shadow is set to 60%.

Here is a link to other options we went through in the Foundry (some lower options, some higher options).

Would 55% / 50% be more appealing to everyone?

Ok oggis you've just made a twat of yourself for a change. I've just posted in the thread and I'm the only one of all the posters in here to do so. Most of you have very little right to complain with quite the vehemence that you are. Perhaps if you all went now and put forward a few constructive ideas it might help a lot more than all this whining

Seriously? I appreciate the effort. I have never been in the foundry. Frankly, I would have thought the function of the foundry was development of new maps.

Never thought it would be to dramatically change that which we know and love.

Please bring back the old version....not one of the options in the foundry are as easy to read to me.

I like the idea that some have mentioned about having 2 versions available?

50% and 55% are both fine, but I don't see a need to change what you've done anyway.

I already have trouble with the colours and have to use the codes for some of them. Even harder now as I have to read all of the colours. Thanks a lot.

Andy, I looked at the different options, and quite honestly none of them look great with the white dots. I think the problem in games for me right now is the fact that red and pink are a bit harder to distinguish, and the clutter created on the map. Maybe if I switch to a large map view it won't be so bad, but I play on my Motorola Q a lot, and thats not a good option.
